Increased text size does it for me. I have it set almost to the max, lol.

I’m using my i7 32GB since day 1.
And i think, its time to upgrade.
Walking to the store, trying to compare between mini and 12.

And, i walk out form the store with my (new battery replace) i7.

I can‘t even imagine this text so large. ? I have the smallest one from my first iPhone in 2009. And while it is sometimes strange for me to read it, it isn’t the main problem. I have the main problem with choosing between typing one or two hands so the size of the phone is nowadays the biggest undecided part.

Really? Is it based on the size? Because 12 mini is much better to hold and type than on i7 (my dad still have it). But you get so many features in 12 lineup.

I made the 7 - 12 move both bought day one. I was hesitating between the two (mini / regular 12) but ending up with the 12 and it's a perfect balance.

I would go for 12 mini only if you really want a small size or want an extra incentive to reduce content consumption / distraction on your phone

Else iPhone 12 is a very good value and balance for an iPhone

For everybody interested in my ongoing test, today I picked up regular 12 from my friend. Also, I got a pretty bad cut on my left thumb yesterday so it wouldn't be totally fair test. But still, here are those first impressions are this:

1) Regular 12 is really huge in my hand. XS wasn't feeling that big, I didn't think that before until I have it in my hand today. It's so much about feeling and in this part of the fight is absolutely in favour of 12 mini.
2) Obviously, I can't type with both thumbs, so this is quite out of the rating for now. I will review that later. But typing with both hands would be almost without a doubt better than on mini. But as it's better mini for typing with one hand (of course 12 is out of the question with one hand at least for me) it is better 12 for both hands.
3) Reading is on the other hand in favour of 12. I don't mean just more lines of text, but the text is somehow feeling closer and a bit bigger (logically).
4) Reachability is not useful for me. Not in one hand, only with two hands. In one hand I'm holding the 12 with my littlefinger as a support for not slipping out of my hand and it is tough for me use it properly.

It seems to me that I can't operate with this phone size easily. Despite it's smaller than 11 and just a very little bit bigger than XS, it doesn't feel that fine in operating and using. And I don't think that change with my healed finger. I always take it in my hand and I immediately need to use it with both hands. This doesn't happen with mini. Putting this simple: mini is far the best phone from Apple released in years in terms of feeling and holding.

What still strikes me as one of the worst choices from Apple is including ultrawide lens and not telephoto. I never even tried ultrawide shots. Maybe it's because we live at home these days more than ever before and this is a feature that could be perfectly use outside. Or possibly perfectly.

I will update you in a few days.

Agreed with the ultra wide lens. I think it's a bit gimmicky personally and would prefer a telephoto; but I think apple chose it for the 11 and 12/mini because it is "cooler" to market to the masses, since its something a bit more unique. Where as you can in theory just crop a wide lens pic to imitate the telephoto.

12 Mini is the perfect size, dont get caught by Mini name's product and others telling you its too small
People have their habit of big phones nowadays
There is no way to call a 5'4 as Mini or small phone
Its only 0.4 inches behind XS
I owned an iPhone X, it was sightly too big for my hands and definitely one of biggest downside, indeed, its his weight
Massive weight sensation when you are holding it in hands
Now you know what you ve get with 12 Mini, sightly worse battery than 12 but you can last 1 day of heavy use, people also often exaggerate about 12 Mini's battery life
Just go on 12 Mini, you wont regret it, its would be an awesome upgrade (i am just talking about size) from X/XS/11 Pro size

Worth giving the 12 a fair go. It’s not much bigger than the 5.8 inch models but slimmer and lighter. For me it has the perfect balance of size,
weight and pocketability. Will be interested to read your thoughts after a you’ve used it for a while.
Yet the critical part was it the perfect size for use in the hand?

I just got the 12 Mini last night all setup and it's the same size as the iphone 8 (almost) and most iphones since the iPhone 4S/5 - the X felt a LOT heavier and bigger which I disliked and downgrade to the 8 at launch. Been on the OG SE for 4mths - I really detest that phone now as on it's last iOS legs it's super buggy.

I can use my 12 fine with one hand. Tried the mini and it was too difficult to type on with my big thumbs. So there's no one size fits all when it comes to hand size. For many people perfect size for one handed use isn't even a factor however; I see plenty of tiny women with 7 inch phablets. A lot of people just don't mind 2 handed use.

You really should try zoomed mode on the mini. Mini actually show 5.8" content compressed to 5.4".

The 12 was the sweet spot for me for screen size and battery life. I wasn’t interested in the devices either side of it but go for the one you prefer. Looking at the pics, the 12 doesn’t look too big in the OP’s hand to me.

Mini shows same as 4.7“ lol
It show the same as 11pro

A 1080×2340 pixel screen would suggest a new resolution of 360×780 points, but the iPhone 12 mini actually shows a scaled down iPhone 11 Pro resolution of 375×812 points. This means that the iPhone 12 mini does not introduce a new resolution.

I understand that. 12 doesn’t feel as good as mini for me.

Agreed. So many choices of the phone size and still we have sometimes problems to choose from. I’m not decided yet but first impressions leans me more to the smaller. I will see after few days and after my finger will heal perfectly. ?

Get the 12 don’t like it return it and keep the mini.
The End.
I do miss telephoto more than ultrawide and quite suprisingly 3D Touch. I have convinced my friend to borrow me his 12 for a few days (his spare phone lol)

The 12 doesn’t have telephoto.
