I completely understand disappointment of the first post. This is probably the buggiest beta in recent few years.
Just few bugs I have encountered during the few days of use:
- Apple Music simple does not work in Music app
- Sidecar is extremely buggy — it works decent every 15th time and for a brief period of time
- External monitors - catalina keeps changing colour profile of monitors
- Night shift does not work properly or at all when external monitors are connected
- AirPlay does not work — it simply won’t connect to wireless devices
- It takes few minutes to shutdown
- Often cursor gets some offset

This list goes on and on. This version is extremely unstable, it is incomparable to previous betas.
I strongly suggest not to try it until at least next version comes out.

None of those issues here. I have some other ones, but nothing too show stoppery for me to keep going with the beta.

Every year, it doesn’t fail. The trouble is the betas, particularly the early ones can and usually are, very buggy. We need them to get apps ready, if we use new technologies and want them released around the same time as the launch in September. Never install it expecting it to work flawlessly until, heck even a couple of weeks before GM can have serious issues.

The issues people experience with them will vary wildly depending on the system they are being used on. Personally I’ve not had anything too unbearable, the Music app was with Apple Music, but I fixed that by deleting the Music folder. I’m also getting occasional crashes in Xcode, but beyond that it’s nothing I cant cope with and certainly nothing I wouldn’t expect from a beta this early in.

If you don't want to put up with potentially serious problems, don't install it..... yet, especially on a production device. If you do need to use it, then I’m sorry, you're in the same boat as the rest of us, there may be trouble ahead, ahem. Best thing you can do is report any and all issues to Apple so that they can be fixed, thats what these beta periods are for. Hopefully it’ll be in a state where you can enjoy it before too long.
