This is normal. Just panel uniformity, though you think for a screen this size it would be better.

My 11” screen is slightly brighter on the left side compared to the right in portrait mode. It’s more noticeable on all grey screens typically in the lower left corner.
Yes my screen is the same actually, brighter on the left in portrait

I had major uniformity issues on my first gen 12.9 IPP. I’ve since owned a 10.5” IPP and now the 11” IPP - no screen issues on either device/consistent across the panel. I may be lucky(?).

Just picked up another iPad Pro 11" but this time the 256 GB and man I lucked out as the screen is just gorgeous. No severe off-axis shift and it's uniform all the way around. No dark corners either. This one is a keeper.

Man. Sorry for your troubles. As far as i can tell, my 11” ipad pro has a perfect screen.

Hi,

I went through three 11” iPad pros and all of them, including the devices in my apple store, have some kind of uneven backlight.
When scrolling text on white background to the corners you can clearly see that two of the four corners are visibly darker than the rest of the screen.

I think this is really annoying. So I tend to keep my 10,5”.

IMHO the 10,5” ipp has better whites, better viewing angles and a better backlight.

Tom
The 10.5 will likely develop a bright spot after a year according to many accounts so anything better about the 10.5’s display gets inavalidated by that alone.

Withe the thinness, there is too little room to diffuse the light properly.
Any damage to the diffusing material will immediately affect the lighting.
The very thin MacBooks display casings have the same issue of you put pressure on the display case.

Like every Apple device before it, welcome to the panel lottery. When you get a good one this is easily one of the best lcds on a consumer device. Good luck.

Since these are edge lit LCD, there will never be a perfectly lit panel. On my soon to be returned 11, it has pretty good uniformity. I think I got a good panel in this one, which is a shame i have to return it.

Anyone here claiming their display is perfect is in la la land. No such thing exists, not oven OLED.

And on top of that apart from whatever people have told here, the LCD Displays of Apple devices with continuous usage do get more even out in terms of uneven backlight in my experience. So my advice to people who are experiencing it unless your patience is running out thin, I would say give it some time.

What? No...

So why do you comment in threads where in there is no value addition from you ? I have observed this for long ! You do it even in my Threads e.g. being just from the Other day the Airplay Receiver Dongle thread that I started. You said why not try Roku ? Did you even know what Roku does ? And if that product is relevant in the current Context ?

Let’s not argue and go off topic.

There are reviews out that mention that the screen is brighter in the center and darker in the corners.

IMHO the 2018 screens are not as good as the screen on my 10.5 ipp and not worth the money.

I wonder why there are so little complaints about it.
Can you tell me in which reviews mention that the screen is brighter in the centre and darker in the corners please?
I have the same problem
