Universal Control - Frequent Disconnects

I am looking at Synergy for use with my Mac Studio and a Mini PC with Windows 11. These computers are on the same network, and can be wifi as well. One question I have will this work with a single monitor? The 2 computers are switched by a Yamaha AVR via HDMI for sound and video. With Yamaha I can switch between which computer is on the screen and which one I can hear. But this does not switch the keyboard and mouse. Will Synergy do this job? I also have an eero but I am not yet using it in a MESH conjugation.

It just doesn't work. Using the latest betas on both devices and the same 'ol same 'ol. I've let it go. I'm done with it. It's been years since this thing has been flakey. And more than likely, because Apple, they probably let it go before I did.

I'm having this same issue, had it for a while with 2 MBPs M3. As usual the answers in discussions.apple.com are not right, they mention the firewall and I don't even have the firewall on.
The mesh tho... seems to be the common denominator for all of us; I wonder if when a computer moves from a mesh node to another (this is seamless to the user) it causes universal control to disconnect. Even if you are not moving around I noticed the nodes sometimes compete and computers jump between them.
There's a way to enforce certain MAC addresses to stick to certain mesh nodes, I'll try that and report back.

I had issues but didn't have a mesh.

I've been running with Synergy fine since I last posted. I even added a Windows desktop which I can control from the Mac.

I is funny the issue has sort of worked itself out. My Keychron keyboard works via bluetooth with my Mac Studio and iPad M4 13", and it will work with my iPhone, not much point with it because of the small screen. For the PC I have a USB cable going there. The PC takes care of charging the keyboard. I just switch it to wired and Windows.

I have an M1 MBA (work) and an M2 Mac Mini (personal) and I just moved the mac mini and it's monitor to be next to my MBA setup so that I could try universal control. It worked and then disconnected within just a couple of minutes. I reconnected and with a couple of minutes it disconnected again. And when I go into settings, i don't even see the option for it to connect to my Mac Mini--I have to wait and then it will pop back in eventually.

This could be such an elegant solution but the amount of disconnects is very frustrating.

I too have been struggling with this for a while and stumbled upon this thread. So many of these comments look like exactly how I would describe what I am encountering. One of the things I am curious about is that his is defined as a feature when the Macs are nearby so I tried leaving the Maps app running on each computer and noticed that my location jumps around quite a bit, which is not terribly surprising since GPS doesn't work as well indoors. I did notice just a moment ago that, when the mouse disconnected from my MacBook, the location on the Maps app on my Mac mini had jumped a few hundred feet away from the location on the Maps app on my MacBook and the instant the MacBook refreshed and hopped to the same approximate location, the mouse reconnected.
