Nope, not using custom logos and i have tried those settings and updating, neither worked. Yes instead of asking for the BL files it goes straight to saving the ipsw. I have tried someone elses T Mobile sim card to make sure it just wasnt mine and theirs didnt work either...I tried a friends ATT sim and the phone worked so it is not the phone either.

OK so i eneded up having to use pwnage on windows and i was able to choose the BL files but still will not recognize the T Mobile sim...I have tried to downgrade to 1.1.4 using the downgrade instructions on iClarified http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1504 but when i get to step 10...I cant get the phone out of recovery mode....any ideas?

Jeez!!! Finally got it to downgrade to 1.1.4 unlocked and jailbroken and still does not see the sim....grrrrr

Well when I ran pwnage when it was at 2.0 I tried someone elses T Mobile Sim and it didnt work either...i tried someones att sim and the phone worked..plus the sim works in my T Mobile phone

I am thinking about getting an iphone I have an ipod touch now and love it but I am with tmobile so when you jailbreak it on tmobile do you need to pick one of the blackberrys as your phone and use one of the blackberry packages for data and internet its isnt the new 3g iphone i am getting it is the original one with the metal back.

Ok...figured it out i think...found somebody with an iPhone that needed to be unlocked/jalibreak and that has T Mobile. Unlocked their phone the same way I did mine and it worked. I put their sim card in my phone, didnt work, put my sim card in their phone it worked. I put an ATT sim in both phones and they both worked. So there is nothing wrong with my phone or my sim card. Went to setting/about on both phones to look for any differeneces and noticed that my phone had no iccid number. The person I got the phone from had something wrong with his iPhone and before he sold it to me he went to the Apple store and they gave him a new one as a replacement and then he just gave it to me. So i am assuming that since the phone was never activated on a legit account that it never got assigned the iccid. Anyone now a way around this?

this is probably a pretty silly question but when jailbreaking the iphone do you put the tmbile sim card in after you jailbreak or does the sim card need to be in it while your jailbreaking it. I am using the old iphone with the metal back

This was actually confusing to me as well, because it isn't explicated in any of the walkthroughs.

It doesn't matter when you put the SIM in. You can do the full jailbreak process without the SIM or you can put the SIM in before you jailbreak it.
