OK, so My original order was the carrier version however I am buying the phone outright so when I saw that the Unlocked and SIM-free iPhone was released I also ordered the Unlocked and SIM-free iPhone 7 Plus. This is also a 3-4 week delivery even though they just released it.

So Apple released a phone that they do not have available?

What is your ship date for the Unlocked and SIM-free iPhone 7 Plus ?

That kinda describes most iPhone launches.

I've always pre-ordered so I've always had it day 1 (or stayed in line for the iphone 1 through 4).
This year I was not excited so I waited a month.

My problem is I have a work trip to Spain Nov 9 to 18 and the phone will come during that and no one will be there to sign *sigh*

In your original post you say that you bought the carrier version. Which carrier?

The 1st order was with AT&T, paid full price.
The second order is the sim free, I was not expecting a 3-4 week delay on this. (glad I had not yet canceled my original order)

Now I wait to see who ships first...

I've been checking istocknow, went into the store and there simply is very few being shipped by apple to my local stores and the iphone 7 plus that are being sent my store is giving to upgrades only. (so even if I wanted to wait in line it's not an option)

I was hoping you'd say you bought the Verizon model, it's unlocked and hardware wise identical to the sim free one that you're waiting for. The AT&T model you paid full price for should be unlocked.

Anyway, most of the world operates on GSM, so unless you plan on switching to Sprint or Verizon it doesn't really matter that you bought the AT&T one.

I just spoke to apple and I cannot change the address the phone is being sent to however I can change the sim free one so if worst comes to worst and they don't ship early I cancel the att one and send the sim free to my Mother's! Yeah for sim free

Are you close to an Apple Store? You could always try to buy the Verizon version full price which would be the same as the sim free version.

Does it support GSM as well? I have 5 stores within 45 miles and none of them have had the iphone 7 plus but in limited quantity that is reserved for iphone upgrade customers. :(

If it is the same phone that would explain the ship date/time was 3-4 weeks out of the gate.

The Verizon version has both CDMA and GSM and is the same as the sim free version. I got mine at the Apple store using the iup link and they sold it to me full price without the upgrade program but I've heard some stores won't so YMMV

Wow that's a long time to wait. I got my SIM free yesterday, reserved online and picked up the next day. The online delivery estimate was Oct 20.

I hope I'm lucky too. Ty. It's encouraging to hear the phones actually exist and there are people getting early delivery

Mine's one day later, 15 Nov, 2016 - 22 Nov. Let me know when yours ships?

It is likely that Apple will deliver our iPhones sooner than estimated. This is what I am anticipating based on my pre-order experience:

Processing Items to Preparing for Shipment: 7 days

Preparing for Shipment to Shipped: 4 days

I will keep you posted.
