well 2020air and ipad are deregistered, does this mean no more updates for the ipad?

I’m not sure what you mean?

Before the Air 3 was announced, it was widely expected to be a 10.2” model. I doubt anyone knows what Apple will release in 2020 yet, though naturally a Pro refresh would be expected if they continue to follow the pattern.

Not entirely sure what “upgrade” you are referring to. But even if you never login to any apple devices, it will still receive software updates nonetheless. At this point, it is almost like all your iOS devices are the property of Apple, not you.

I have updated my 9.7 iPad Pro to 12.3... works just as well as the day I took it out of the box. I love that iPad and will definitely get my money’s worth out of it.

My experience is that with older apple devices (older than circa 2015) there might be performance issues with never FW. But anything newer has always been smooth so far. But thats just from my personal experience.

That’s super good. I’ve also seen on another thread that someone that didn’t have any screen touch issues updated to 12.3 and now his iPad has the dreaded touch issue.

I posted this is other threads but you should ALWAYS update you device no matter how old. the updates include security fixes that are way to important to ignore. 12.3 in fact fixed I think over 50 of them . for that fact alone its always worth the update. we live in a digital world and people dont think of security enough.

Assuming the update don’t break stuff. If someone updates his device to latest iOS and has a ton of bugs or issues rendering his device unusable, then fixing security issue is secondary.

nope, i need to log in to upgrade an app and new useless iOSX on my ipad.

My iPhone 4s and iPad 2 both tanked when I updated them to their latest OS, so I have shy'd away from updates ever since. My 6S is on 11+ and doing fine. Not sure what the reports are regarding performance of iOS12 on a 6S.
