I am planning to update my CPU on my Mac Pro 5.1 2010. After searching a bit, I found that the highest CPU I can get is the dual 6-core Xeon 3.46GHz. Now I wonder if this one I found here can be used straight away without de-lidding? I've checked and some people say that Mac Pros version 5.1 don't need de-lidding. So I am not sure if I can buy and use the CPU in the link earlier without having to de-lid it or I have to de-lid them? I appreciate your advice regarding the one in the link.

Attached a photo of my Mac Pro model.

This is the thread you are looking for.
De-lidding is only applicable to dual-processor 4,1.
There are several points to consider in choosing a CPU. I would encourage you to review the thread linked above.

The safest way to identify your MP if it's a 4,1 or a 5,1 is by looking at:
about this Mac> system information , and check to SMC numbers:
1.39f5 = 4,1
1.39f11 = 5,1

I just want to have a peace of mind if anyone could check the CPU in this link and confirm that 1- it will work fine (if nothing wrong with it) 2- doesn’t need de-lidding :)

Could you check my previous message and confirm with me please so I can know if I buy it or not? Thank you :)

1- Yes .
2- No de-lidding needed, the ones e.g. recommended by @IndioX will do fine.

My 5,1 Has it’s lids on, works perfectly, even in windows 10....legacy.
While doing this, I would also recommend repasting the north bridge, cleaning it’s heat sink,
I replaced the plastic pins with machine screws. Or get new pins..

Any idea about upgrading the wifi and bluetooth to AC and BT4?

I used this complete kit. Many offer similar. I liked this one having Bluetooth 4,2 .
Works perfectly.

You need, the WiFi card, and adapter card, antenna extension wire, and an Bluetooth signal wire. If not buying a complete kit.

I wonder how much Arctic thermal paste I should place on my new CPU? I saw some people on videos placing a dot in the centre or a line from side to side,....Any advice what is the best way? And I also wonder when screwing off the towers do I need to count the cycles of each screw and do the same when screwing them back on? since I read that with the Mac Pro 5,1 when you unscrew them the tower will kind of pop up and when you screw them back you will notice once it stop, so you don't need to count turns. Any advice?

Look into X5680; 1/2 the cost; only 4% slower than 5690. In the US, 5680s are running about $50 each.

I already bought it and installed it. Replied to your message in the other post.
