Despite the silly numbers above the download was relatively rapid and it installed fine.
Yea im extremely disappointed by this I actually get better quality from air video when live encoding and streaming =/ even regular mirroring (at the springboard) is laggy
So I just updated my AppleTV 2G, and it downloaded and installed correctly, but when I go to sign in it says "Unable to sign in. The iCloud terms of service have changed. For more information go to www.apple.com/support/icloud."
Well I went there and I have no clue where to look or what to do, any suggestions?

What? I've tried three times and it says Update Not Successful. My

I don't think the micro USB cable is all that common to have around the house.
The good news is that when you find one, just plug the usb cable into the ATV and open iTunes. It will give you an option to restore that at least seems to work (except the 5 hour download time right now).
I ended up giving up on it, and then came back to it later last night. Tried to restore via iTunes again, and this time it worked. I think the error was in iTunes trying to validate the install with Apple's servers.
i feel really pissed off about the quality of mirroring, all the beta tester could of possible pointed this out in the 4 months of testing on blogs and what not rather than making out it was really good and make me excited about. i just feel like the airplay mirroring hype is all over nothing. I cant believe i got rid of my jailbreak for it. some of the tester could of possible pointed out it isnt a solution for getting bbc iplayer onto your hdtv.
It's disappointing, but remember beta testers are under NDA and aren't supposed to discuss the betas with the wider world. However, people have been talking for a while about how AirPlay Mirroring would work based on what Apple has said/shown, and the limitations were always obvious (i.e. we always knew it would be a 4:3 image, and the demands of real-time video compression always meant that video quality was going to suffer).
Things should get a bit better if/when the app developers take AirPlay Mirroring into account and code for 720p output.
You can still get iPlayer on your TV if you AirPlay from Safari on an iPhone, if that helps (though apparently not from an iPad).

im just annoyed about iplayer , because i could use that in xbmc when my atv2 was jailbroken. Plus i figured airplay mirroring would be good quality since video through normal airplay with apps like imdb and youtube is brilliant quality. plus the limitations of mirroring are not that obvious to someone who isnt that technical, i
figured the people who are technical blogging about it could have pointed out the floors
tv out is actually pretty good with av player hd, goes upto 1080p
