thanks for the link, I actually manually got all my .DEB's which was annoying but worked xD Is it possible to maybe add them all to it now? Also would it matter what order I install the .DEB's if I were to restore? Or aslong as the tweak and all it depends on is there in any order its good.

Here I go again:
Which one is better, DebianSaverLauncDaemon which saves a copy of the .deb files every time you install a cydia app or Pkgbackup?

I updated from jailbroken OS6 to OS6.1.1.

I didn't have the 3G issue on my 4s either, but may have seen the battery life issue.

Make sure you get evasion 1.3 for the jailbreak and DON'T do the OTA for upgraded to 6.1.1.

DFU-restore is the safest way, it is a complete wipe of the system portion of the idevice.

evasi0n 1.3 for 4S 6.1.1 update is already out

I updated.

Didn't have the 3G issue on my 4s, but may have seen the battery life issue. Couldn't verify it. But so far, all looks well for me on 6.1.1. I only have OpenSSL, OpenSSL, and MyWi added.

How do I save all my jailbreak tweaks so I won't have to re-download them?

Most of the paid ones are saved in Cydia.

What I do is take screenshots of all the free tweaks and so they're saved to my camera roll. Then I transfer the pics to my PC and re-download the tweaks. Just go to Cydia, tap Manage, tap Packages, then take screenshots of the alphabetical list. I do the same for sources that I've added.

Then I delete the pics from my camera roll once I've added the tweaks back.

That's the easiest way I've come up with.

Also, there's an app called "AptBackup" for free in Cydia.

But why dont you use DebianSaver which is free or Pkgbackup? Cant you even save your repos with these cydia apps?

There's a Cydia package called AppInfo which you can use to email yourself either a simple or detailed list of all your Cydia packages, repos, App Store apps, contacts, songs, etc. I find it extremely useful anytime I'm about to restore my device. Very simple but very useful package. It's free too.

I have always had software issues with jailbreaks but I love the new tweaks for the 5 and the power it has to run them. So tell me if this should work well and give me the clean install but keep my current set up (game saves, texts, and settings).

Back up phone (Can't I save this for when/if I have an issue?)

Update from 6.1 to 6.1.1 as a clean install (like a new phone)

Jailbreak 6.1.1

Plug into iTunes and restore from backup.

Have I missed something? Anything that could prevent me from going back to an un-jailbroken state?

Thanks.

worked perfectly here. backed up, restored (which brought me to 6.1.1); did the jailbreak, and all is well.
spent a few hours re-installing apps, ssh'ing stuff; some of my tweaks, and all of my settings (ie springtomize) were still there after the new JB...nice.

phone seems very happy (me too).. :D

Pkgbackup is $9.99USD in Cydia. I prefer free. And I will not install pirated or cracked apps or tweaks, even though Pkgbackup is free on insanelyi.

Case in point: Pro Tube is free in insanelyi but I paid for Pro Tube in Cydia. If I have any problems, I can contact the dev with no qualms.

When you use iCloud or iTunes to back up all your games, do ALL of your game saves, game settings, and data restore back to exactly how they were before the restore? I ask because I always lose data when I do this. Specifically I lose game saves which I find annoying. I stopped using iCloud and iTunes to save my game saves. I use AppBackup (I say this so many times on this forum you'd think I'm the developer or a friend of the developer lol). It makes an identical backup of any app store app you want. You can just go down the list of installed apps and backup whichever apps you want saved. I mostly only backup game saves but there are a few apps I back up in addition to games. After you restore your device and jailbreak, then you install AppBackup and copy the AppBackup folder from your computer to your phone. Then you open the AppBackup app and restore all your game saves back to EXACTLY how they were before you restored the device. You don't lose a byte of data. I swear up and down by that app. I have been using it for years now and it has never failed me once.

If you're interested in this method, in your case, what you'd have to do is jailbreak the phone first, install AppBackup, then open the app and go down the list of installed games and backup each app. Then you copy the AppBackup folder to your computer (extremely easy to accomplish), make sure to backup your contacts, calendars, email, etc with iCloud or iTunes, restore as new to 6.1.1 with iTunes. Then jailbreak, sync your contacts and stuff back to your phone, install AppBackup, and restore all your games to EXACTLY how they were before you restored! It's perfect!

Lol I always mention this in these types of threads just so others who have wondered how to do this would now learn. Plus if anyone searches the forum for how to save game saves, hopefully they'll stumble on this method since I can confirm that it works 100% without any extra nonsense, stability issues, corrupted data, etc. If you want I can send you a link for step by step instructions on how to use AppBackup. Plus I've done this so many times I know the process like the back of my hand. Aside from the time it takes to restore a device with iTunes, this entire process takes me like 20 mins. I have game saves from as far back as like 2010 haha

So what app do you use to backup then? The pkgbackup they have in insanelyi is an old one 5.2.5 that is not compatible with ios 6

I cant even update to 6.1.1 because itunes tells me that 6.1 is the most updated ios for my iphone 5 which is factory unlocked. Why could this be? Could it be that apple sends the update to remote locations in the world many days after the first world? I am in the southern most part of Southamerica btw.
