That's very weird.

When I first read this thread I thought it was 75% installed. Then upon re-reading it, I changed my mind and thought, no, it's 100% installed, but only 75% bootable.

Now if you have no build number whatsoever I am of the opinion it is only 75% bootable BECAUSE it is only 75% installed.

Back to data recovery then.

Think about installations later.
OK but consider this. If I log in to the guest account in safe mode and then try to switch accounts to the account that has the iCloud account attached with the incorrect iCloud password, it freezes during login. So doesn't this point further to the possibility that it's 100% installed and 100% bootable but it freezes during boot because of the issue with the incorrect iCloud password? Surely, since the admin/default account automatically logs in on boot, it's almost certainly verifying the iCloud password before finishing login and this I think is where the freeze occurs. I just have a gut feeling that if I could delete the iCloud account like in that thread I attached a few times I will be able to boot up and log in just fine.

You could delete the stuff in icloud in terminal with:

sudo rm -r ~/Library/Application\ Support/iCloud/Accounts

I can do this from a safe-mode guest account? I try, it only asks for a password and when I input the correct admin password it says wrong password.

Well how about in the recovery partition. You should be able to boot up in that with cmd+r. Then open terminal in that and run the command.

I just get sudo: command not found.

Each line starts with -bash-3.2#

Well I haven't done it myself, but the reason I suggested it is because that is what the guy in the thread you linked to before did and he seemed to fix it.

But if that doesn't work, can you try deleting /Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts via target disk mode?

DUDE. HOLY ****ING **** I FIGURED IT OUT.

I had to open Terminal in recovery mode, select the Macintosh HD volume using cd /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD

Then I navigated all the way down to the iCloud folder, deleted the Accounts folder and BOOM I restarted and everything's working fine!

THANK YOU SO ****ING MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. Seriously man, I REALLY appreciate it.

I had the same problem but my problem fixed itself just by virtue of starting up in safe mode. Even though starting up in normal mode and also recovery partition both gave me a grey screen I knew my Mac was okay as boot amp worked. Starting up in safe mode meant the computer seemed to having on the loading bar for ages but when I come back to it later it had started up in safe mode, although it was very glitchy and I worked my graphics card was buggered as it was slow and glitchy. So I then restarted in normal mode and it finished off the installation and is working fine now.

Why don't you start up in safe mode, download the beta from the direct link in this thread and run it again ?

Thanks for your reply but I already fixed it by deleting the iCloud Accounts folder in recovery mode using Terminal.
