Finally upgraded from a 3G to 3GS on Thursday, after refusing to update for two months I finally gave in after seeing how my girlfriend's brand new 3GS did games really fast. For normal iPhone features (messaging, phone, notes, calendar, clock, iPod, etc.) there really is not much difference, not worth it for that in my opinion. However, games are really much better. Games like Need for Speed and Doom Resurrection are like brand new games, everything is much faster and really makes the whole gaming experience better. I am playing Need for Speed on my 3GS before my 3G has loaded the map screen. Also, if you do a lot of browsing in your iPhone then the faster speed will be a godsend. It is a lot smoother and really much, much better. Pages render a lot faster. If you do any of the above two things in your iPhone a lot, then get the 3GS.

On the downside, like said above by another poster, the 3GS screen is horrible. Whites are not whites but light yellow!! Blacks look washed out. And my girlfriend's 3GS is the same. My 3G has really a perfect screen, blacks were black and whites were white. Putting the 3G next to the 3GS really puts them both to shame in screen quality!

Can't even let myself pay that much for a compass and video. Yet, the overlay is pretty neat.

I had a good discussion with a genius why it was a good idea. He seemed to think the compass alone was worth it and i disagreed.

I just want my damn MMS.
