ok i hope you understood my question.
what did i ask - if anyone uses the program redsnow or simiar do they have to unlock it everytime they upgrade
i dont think any has to give up to answer this question. obviously i dont know hence i am asking for furture reference (so that i can let others know). the way you answer is humilating.
I believe everyone has understood your question(s) but you have changed the focus of what you wanted to do multiple times in this thread (first restore to 4.1, then restore to 6.0.1, jailbreak, then finally you told us you wanted to unlock).
That is frustrating to those trying to help you.
Redsn0w is the primary program used for iPhone modification and jailbreaking.
Jailbreaking is the process of breaking into the root files of the iPhone so modifications to the operation of the iPhone can be made,
Unlocking is the process of making the GSM iPhone accept sims from any carrier,
They are very different procedures.
Jailbreaking is accomplished using software, everytime you change the firmware on your phone you must re-jailbreak.
Unlocking can sometimes be done using software but the best unlock is an IMEI unlock via your carrier or a grey market vendor (for a charge), everytime you change the firmware on your phone you must re-unlock if you use a software unlock. IMEI unlocks are forever regardless of firmware upgrades or baseband changes.
Since all of this was new to you, you could of also used Google to try and educate yourself as most of us did, so you could understand the answers we were providing to your questions. While this is new to you, the concept is not hard to grasp. But, it is your responsibility to search out the knowledge to comprehend the answers. The Internet is loaded with basic primers about jailbreaking, unlocking and every related procedure. That knowledge is free and would have changed the course of this thread.
Good luck.
