great to hear. once i got an iPad i can't even read on my old Fire HD 10 lol. do you read with Apple's Book app too?
I’m totally Kindle, for a variety of reasons (compatibility with my actual Kindle; and Kindle Unlimited are the main two). I’m an Apple guy through-and-through everywhere else, but Amazon just does books better (Kindle & Audible).

ok, thanks
for those of you who have upgraded to 17, how do u like it?
My overall impression of iOS 17 is that my iPad and iPhone both seem smoother. Like when I go into my iCloud settings and my usage metrics appear almost instantly (had to wait for a while previously). Or the share sheet extension popping up more quickly (before, there was a noticeable lag). Safari seems snappier, the app launching animation feels faster, everything seems to run like butter.

Otherwise, it's been another hectic week at work and I haven't quite gotten down to playing around with the new features yet.

I upgraded to it last night.
This Morning I tried to connect to my spare iMac. (It is semi-obsolete). It doesn't want to connect. I have no doubts that I will be able to connect to my Work PC, a Dell, later tonight.

Been using iPad OS 17 since public beta 3 with no issues. Runs smooth with good battery life. I also use Apple Books regularly. Science Fiction, fiction, history, and biographies are my favorites.
I like Apple Books and Kindle. I think I'll use both going forward, not just Kindle. Apple's dictionary feature is def better

Installed only recently so early days but so far I like iPadOS17. I know it feels more like iPadOS 16,5 to many but i like the lock screen stuff and stage manager is much more useful for me now

also really like the larger lens when holding over text.

everything is pretty smooth so far🤞

 I somewhat prefer iPadOS 16n on my iPad.
For various Rube Goldberick reasons I need my old iMac with its ancient Yosemite OS:
Incoming DVD. Cannot download DVD at work. Mac Mini's SuperDrive downloads DVD to Temp Folder. Old/New files updated on Temp Folder and moved to Flashdrive. iMac gets Flashdrive. iMac to iPad connected. Transfer new/old to iPad. iPad to Work PC.

These are files that get updated nearly every month. Incoming are Newer versions of various files. The Old ones WILL HAVE the exact same name as the New Ones. The OS CANNOT tell the differences between the two. I literally have to go through the Combined Folder of the New and Old files. Old ones go bye-bye, New ones stick around.

A few months ago the combined totals were over 325 files. I long ago found it much simpler to Wholesale delete Groups of files. When the deletion was eventually completed Download the newly formed batch. Many of the incoming were additional files, the bulk incoming were were replacement files.
Saturday (Oct 7) I had a small batch of 14 files to move. 12 were replacements. I had to delete one-by-one the old files. It was extremely time intensive. I usually get one CD every other week. One week I got over 20 CD's; somebody else once got around 40 CD's that had to be processed.

I had to download a patch to my Mac Mini in order to permit my iPad to connect to the Mini. No Problem. :) No More DO I TRUST THIS COMPUTER? messages. :) Update time for my iMac. Opened the Wi-Fi to download ITS patch. No Luck.🤨. Obvious reason is Yosemite is no longer supported.
Updating itself isn't that bad, it's the massive deletions that have to be dealt with that drive me nutz. 🎱
