Look, I started writing a long reply, but then I thought to myself "am I really doing this at my age, explaining how many Linux distros I have been using for 2 decades and half... what for, to demonstrate what".

In 2011, macOS introduced Launchpad, but Linux developers had already created a similar menu called Slingshot, which originally had a different name. I remember accusing Apple of copying that menu back then. However, no major Linux distribution adopted a Launchpad-style menu, as Ubuntu introduced their own Unity Menu. At the time, Ubuntu was the leading and most well-known Linux distro.
