hi
I am attempting to load tiger onto my 12 inch PowerBook G4.

the installation cd runs up to the first part when it ask's you to restart. then after the restart it up and comes up with a error message

'unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerBook6,4".'

This is not the complete message as it is to long to type out.

I have tried every thing i can think of fsck, reparing permissons, removing an after market ram and i have tried lots else

any help would be very appreciated

thanks

Just in case...
The full retail version disc is black, with a large 'X' on it.
The model-specific discs are gray, and will only install on the same model they shipped with originally.
Sounds like the one you have is not the right one for your Mac.

You'll have more trouble finding a retail Tiger disc than one for Leopard. If you have enough RAM for Leopard (1GB recommended) you can call the number on the Apple Store web site and order one for $80 at last report (a few days ago). They might deny having any, so just be nice and explain that you saw this online that someone else got one just this week.
