Hi

I just ordered the Magic Keyboard for the Ipad Pro 11 inch. I could cancel the order if need be.

Is it worth considering upgrading from the 2018 iPad Pro to the 2020 iPad Pro ?

my understanding is that the new Magic Keyboard is compatible with the 2018 iPad Pro.
My question is about whether the new iPad Pro is a worthy
?

I am also on the fence about iPad size. I once had the 12.9 and found it unwieldy. While in bed, I mainly use it in portrait mode.

Any thoughts?

unless you're badly desperate for that LIR camera, there is no difference between the 2018 and 2020 models

I mean 50% more RAM (in non 1TB configs) and a new cooling system is a difference. You can argue that an additional GPU core is not significant but it's also still a difference.

Just confirming your keyboard order is compatible with your current iPad, so no need to worry there (y)

new cooling system? Hahahahaha

I'm not going to skip thru the teardown. Was it not confirmed that the 2020 has a different passive cooling mechanism?

Also, posts with actual information in them are a lot more productive than a laugh with nothing. I'll gladly correct it if I've made an error but your terrible post doesn't actually say anything.

I'm not advocating that the OP should upgrade.. of course not. It's almost never worth upgrading to sequential Apple products, though people do it of course.

I gave my 2018 to my mother-in-law so she could FaceTime us especially during these days and times. This resulted in me purchasing a 2020. Had I not given my 2018 away I would have not upgraded.

I have a 2018 IPP with a 256gb hard drive and LTE. I'd say the only reason I'd upgrade is if with the Magic Keyboard I were to make it my primary device. At that point potentially upgrading to a 512gb or 1TB iPad Pro would make a bit more sense.

As of now I travel for work and use my MacBook Air when I'm home and the iPad when I'm on the road.

I'm someone who loves gadgets and upgrading to the latest and greatest but I just don't have any desire to upgrade my 2018 IPP. It's still great tech and the difference isn't compelling to me.

I bought a 2020 first, used it for a day but then decided to return it for a 2018 model on sale. I saw no difference whatsoever, other than the camera. Granted I came from an iPad Air 2, but still.

I would save the money for a more substantial upgrade.

You don’t notice any difference on app/Zerg page reloads due to the extra 2GB ram?

I notice a big difference with app reloads, I can now go into a app that I haven’t used for days without it reloading, compared to the 2018 where it would reload quite soon after being closed if I kept on using other apps. I barely have any app reloads and never had a safari tab reload on the 2020.

That makes this update one of the bigger ones for me.
