I tried this previously and was told the shipper requires at least one delivery attempted before it can be held. It was not for an iPhone it was actually at MacBook Pro that came directly from Apple. Hopefully that is not the case.
FedEx does this

I believe that's for UPS Ground, and not sure if Apple uses Ground. My understanding is that Apple uses the UPS Next Day Air Saver.
I think UPS has always delivered on Saturdays for Express/next day. I think they added ground to Saturday. I would be pretty annoyed if I was a shipper, shipped something 2-day and ground was delivered before it. lol

In the past, I've always gotten my iPhones via China, and they always come UPS. When something is coming from a domestic Apple location, it has arrived either Fedex or UPS. I have never received an iPhone via China from Fedex.

I think it's just UPS Ground that will deliver on Saturdays now. I haven't seen any Express/Next day be delivered on a Saturday. But then I haven't used UPS Express/Next Day either.

As for Fedex, down the road when Apple Warehouses in the U.S has plenty of iphone's available and you order say in November, they will typically ship from one of their warehouses and use Fedex Express and sometime UPS. Since Apple uses Fedex Express it usually overnight and you have the next day delivery.

Does the address on my ID need to match the mailing address?

I've moved since I renewed my DL last year so that address doesn't match but the name obviously does.

I would just do the normal delivery, but I now live in a high rise and all packages are delivered to a locker system called Parcel Pending. I'm concerned about the signature required issue.

Mine's not currently letting me hold at a UPS CC. Maybe because it's still in China, but it'll let me pick a UPS Store (which delays it by a day - NOT doing). Guess I'll have to settle for the usual UPS 4/5pm delivery time. :/

First year trying to re route it to the CC and it’s stkll showing delivery date on 9/24. Didn’t think sending it to the CC would add another day. Hmmmmmm
[doublepost=1537129351][/doublepost]mvmd, when doing it on mobile it was showing 9/24, hopped on the computer and it shows 9/21 so I should be good to go. I don't trust my apartment complex lol

No, you don’t. Mine was sent there last year and I picked it up on launch day.
Um. Good for you. However, just know that if you do a pick up at UPS CC, you can pick it up on the day of. If you use choose the UPS Store you get this message below. Try it yourself, if you select UPS Store and not UPS CC, and you read carefully look where it says "Estimated Delivery" it will available for you to pick it up on the 24th.

What may work for you may not work for others. I would not do UPS Store as a pick up, unless you absolutely have to.

Hm.. I was able to do a UPS CC on mine without a problem. I wonder if they have a limit they can hold?

Of course but by doing so, you add 1 business day to pick it up. So not an option if you are looking to pick it up on original delivery day.
This has never been the case for me.
Maybe due to when you tried to change it? I always change it prior to it being in my area and have never had it delayed.

Apple used to use FedEx exclusively until a few years ago. Every launch was FedEx... and it sucked. UPS is a Hell of a lot better to deal with.

I have set mine to be picked up at UPS CC so I'm good here. But I know that when you select UPS Store Access Point they typically does delay, as it does state on the next page before you hit Finish. Again, it is a hit or miss, and not something I want to take chances on. If you get it on the day of, that's great, so Good luck, but if you find out that you won't be able to pick it up till Monday, then your out of luck and have to wait the long weekend.

You just have to find out where your sorting facility is and call them at least the day before. It will be there, not at a UPS store.

So odd, this year the CC is not an option for me. I wonder what is happening, this is the first time this happens. :(

Access Point isn't an option for me because of package restrictions. This is odd.

Im wondering the same thing here. the address I am shipping it to is not my primary residence so how does this affect me being able to pick it up at a UPS Customer Centre?
