If you're within decent driving distance to an Apple store, always pick up there. I've had similar UPS issues as I upgrade every year due to IUP. My iphone 11 was also sent back to Apple via fedex for the iup program and they claimed to deliver it and Citizen then tried to charge me $900 claiming they never got the phone. Never again for shipping on IUP.

Sadly, UPS could care less. Last year my trade in did a road trip throughout North America. They must have reassigned the tracking number because it was supposed to end up in Toronto but went to Buffalo, then to BC, and then to California. Thankfully Apple was good about it but UPS gave me the impression that they didn’t care. Very frustrating when there’s a fake sorry and no compensation for your troubles. Hope you get your phone soon.
I just got the return package from Apple LOLOL. I hope they are not expecting me to return anything. This is getting better by the day. Where is the phone that went with it!! I was going to go to ATT and order it. I would maybe have it next week or so.

UPS delivered an empty iPhone box to me on Monday after I missed the delivery on Saturday. I tried to call UPS on Friday.. I literally missed them by a few minutes, but they said the package would be redelivered on Monday. Well, Monday comes and someone else was home to sign for it, they told me the box felt “light” and I told them to open it. Sure enough, it was just an empty iPhone box. The UPS warehouse thieves got to it. I immediately contacted Apple and they’re still “investigating” this matter. Chat support asked me if I would like another phone shipped to my house, I asked if they can ship it to an Apple Store for pick up, they said they couldn’t do that. I told them I just want a refund and will purchase it in store at a later time. I don’t see why they can’t ship it to the store. SMH! Why would I want to risk the chance of another phone getting stolen from UPS workers?

Would you believe that my phone is still traveling the country? The best part now is Citizens One is officially is charging me for the new phone that I don’t have.
I called them on Monday and told them that the phone was lost and Apple already wanted it returned so please cancel this loan out and then I get an email this morning saying thank you for choosing Citizens one with your new iPhone.
I feel like I’m living in the twilight zone. Up is down and down is up. Yeah I’m gonna have to fight them to close the loan out while my phone is taking rounds around the country.
And it actually came back to Kentucky this morning. Lol again.

That is terrible. Stories like this make me want to do ISPU. The UPS worker who delivered the phone and the worker who packed the truck should be investigated as well.

Not delivered.
Then received another mail stating it was Out for delivery on Sept 27th.
Not delivered.
Now today it states: The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible.
Paid in full by Credit Card…

I’m going to try ISPU next year. I don’t want to depend on UPS next year for delivery.I had no issues with delivery, thankfully, but this thread makes me want to do in store pickup. The thing is, the closest Apple store to me is about a 2 hour drive
In your situation I totally understand. I highly doubt I would drive 2 hours for a phone.
I really hope Apple is putting IMEI locks on these so you won’t be able to activate the phone. I bought an iPad cellular model from ebay several years ago and couldn’t activate the cell modem. Turns out that there was IMEI lock on the ipad as it was stolen merchandise.
This thread is making me nervous. I have been waiting anxiously at work (told my wife to stay at home all day), it’s 6:30 central time, and UPS still hasn’t shown.

Have a lot of people been getting their phones the day “after” UPS said they would deliver them? I don’t know how late these delivery drivers work. What’s the latest I should expect a driver?

I’ve seen them driving on the street sometimes as late as 8-9pm. Hopefully you get your device today.

I had to eat something, then went to Tmobile. They said they don't do transfers of pics/videos past 6:30, so I'm going to ask Tmobile to activate it and do my own transfer of pics/videos I guess.

Nope. The trade in boxes are small brown thin ones with a thin white box inside. The poster’s iPhone was stolen out of the box.
Just to verify - the trade in boxes are separate from the iPhone itself, right? It's been a few years since I've done iUP / trade-in. I do see 4 tracking #'s on my UPS MyChoice list (I assume box / phone for my husband and same for me).
Yes my trade in kit came sep from my phone. Sometimes it’ll come before or after your phone.
