Hey TouchSoft. Are you based in ATL? I thought I overheard someone at work saying they knew the guy about to release this game. I could have been mistaken. My day job is working for a startup game company in ATL.

Nothing seems to work on the site. I clicked on every link in the nav bar and all I got was white space in the main area. I don't know if everyone is having this problem but it would be nice to be able to check out your upcoming apps from your company's prospective. I'm really interested in Urban Tycoon, should be great!

What browser are you using? And do you have javascript turned on?

Yes, I'm in Atlanta... Does Elf Island / GoodEgg ring a bell?

What is the game? So far the only thing I see is pushing a button, getting some money and then placing a building. I hope there is more to it than this.

Have you ever played Sim City? It's kind of like that -- I think it looks awesome!

Have you ever played any Tycoon games? or Sim City? it's like that. You manage the city budget, crime, pollution ect ... it's a turn based strategy game.

Same, I'm using Firefox 3.0.3. Any tips to solve this?

In simcity you put down sections and houses were built on that. There were cars, electricity...this just looks boring and very basic.

Well detz if you haven't noticed "THIS ISN'T SIM CITY" ... but at least you just saved yourself a whopping $1.99 ... good for you :D ... Not every game is for every person. What seems "boring a very basic" to you.. is exciting and fun to someone else.

But thanks for checking out the App!!!! :D:D Hopefully you'll go out and get 2.0 :D

omg what a douce. Well I am thinking about trying it. You know I think it is great that some developers actually care about participating in these forums. I don't care if your game sucks or not (it looks like it won't) I for one am glad you are here.

Kind of like your personality.

Seriously, is this comment really needed? Someone makes an app they are proud of, not over priced like a lot of apps (hello Beejive), and seems very easy to learn and play and people like you have to come down on him. If you do not like it, write something better (bet you can't).

TouchSoft, is the Urban Tycoon a "maahverick" (uttered in the voice of Governor Sarah Palin). :D

(Advance) Exclusive Review: UrbanTycoon (V: 1.0)

Hey everyone!

I just did an advance review of UrbanTycoon.

Review

Overall, this game isn’t a go-buy-it-right-now kind of game yet. But, it is a good investment to buy it now with 2.0 (sorry) coming out (as promiced by TouchSoft) before SimCity hits the App Store.

Presentation: 9
Graphics: 7.5
Sound: 9
Gameplay: 8
Value: 10
Lasting Appeal: 6
Overall: 8.4
