US Apple store is down!

What the?! And at 2.0GHz it's still the same price as previously quoted for the 1.83GHz, and the upgrade to 2.16GHz is $300.

If my MacBook Pro arrives with a 1.83GHz proc, Apple just ripped me of $300 worth of processor speed.

This is excellent news! Firstly, it means that the MBP is now better value for money. Secondly, it increases the chances of the Mac mini being a 1.5GHz Core Duo :D
 
Is it only us that get the upgrade MBP??
The swedish apple store have the "old" 1.83 ghz not the 2 ghz.

My guess would be because they didn't know if they would have enough at time of the shipping date...but I guess they did.

I would check with Apple regarding your order. Apple has done this in the past and since it hasn't shipped yet, you should get the newest chip.
 
Uk store not updated yet. I assume it will be in a few hours. I also assume that all of us who ordered the 1.83 will be bumped to 2.0...

That would suck. They ran out of the slower processors and now had to come out with Revision B earlier than scheduled.

Give it a few hours. Most of the stores havn't updated yet! Then there will be a batch run, loads of emails sent to customers (us) and we'll all get faster machines. Everyone is a winner :D

I'm on the phone with Apple. The Swede I'm talking to didn't know about the update. He's asking a colleague right now.

He just returned to the phone. We're all getting the upgrade! :D

Is he still on the phone? Can those of us now getting a 2.0 upgrade to 2.16 without dropping down the queue (I'm not sure I want too but...)

I really don't think they have any 2.16 in stock. They might of just put the 2.16 on there assuming by the time your order would come up, they would have some! If you ordered it today of course.

Well if you select 2.16 from the apple store it shows shipping time in 2-3 days...so I guess they do have them in stock.

Yeah, but there is already a 3-4 Week wait on top of that. Thats gotta be some kind of error on the site to bring your shipping from 3-4 weeks to 1-3 days for getting the 2.16 model. @.@

I am only getting a 1-3 day shipping time for the 2.16ghz model...I don't see any 3-4 week wait on top of that. Do you see something different?
