As I understand the article this name is a unique way to make the child a Junior. Except for the case of George Forman, there is only one child in each family with the same name. So no, if they have more children there would not be a 2.1 etc. The child could likewise his child after him and he could be version 3.0.

I happen to be a Junior myself and see nothing wrong with this. As he grows up, like me he will be proud to have been named after his father.
