No problem, found them.

Don't seem to list the KT4004 unfortunately. Similar to another German supplier I queried.

Did you actually contact them? I am certain they carry it.

The way I contacted them was through "contact the seller" link on their Amazon page.

The name of that card is not always referred to at KT4004, even on Inateck's website. If you specify the 4-port USB 3.0 card for Mac Pro you will see the right card and it won't have a power connector.

Thanks. I only found a German link at first. Now found the SpringrainUK at Amazon. As per the other vendors on Amazon, they won't ship this card internationally. I expect it's a warranty thing or maybe controlled by Inateck. So, no good. Thanks anyway

They don't ship internationally through Amazon, but I've been through this before and they will do it if you purchase from them directly:

First, I want to thank you for your interest in this particular item in our product range. We can of course make an exception for you, as you can still order this product directly through us. The shipping fee, incl. processing, packaging, service and taxes, should then amount to approximately 18 Euro (23,71 U.S.-Dollar).

Thanks for your kindly inquiry. Sorry to say that we haven't expand market to Australia,so we can't do that for you. Hope you can understand. But we believe that we'll make it soon in the future. :) Have a nice day.

From the above, SpringRainUK have now said they can't do it. So, back to square one.

As I haven't been able to source the Inateck KT4004 from Amazon or any other sellers world wide, I have had a watch on ebay for some time, with now luck until now. A couple have just turned up, so I have managed to pick one up, will be interested to see how it goes compared with the Orico.

The Inateck KT4004 card sourced from ebay turned up yesterday in Melbourne and I installed last night in my 5.1 with no hassles, replacing the Orico PME-4U. Works fine, speeds are ok, but not sure if it is as fast as the Orico. I have three devices plugged in btw. 2 x powered USB3 drives, 1 x unpowered Portable USB3 drive. I was using power for the Orico from a HDD sled bay, so that's gone now which gives a little flexibility in drives. Could always extend power from the optical bay if I did need the Orico.

Anyway, all good.

They should transfer at the same speeds considering they use the same chipset. The Inateck also supports UASP, I'm not sure if the Orico does or not. It probably does but I can't find any reference to it.

I did some Blackmagic speed tests on a Raid1 box (2 x 3TB WD Reds) and got about 125-130MB/s and a bit less to/from the 1TB portable drive. The other drive is an Hitachi 4TB Touro. It was just that I couldn't recall the speeds I was previously getting, and I had removed the Orico card!

Mac Pro 1,1 Orico works great

Although it is speed limited by the PCIe 1.1 bus, the Orico card worked great for me in my Mac Pro 1,1 flashed to 2,1 with 8 cores, running on Yosemite. Kinda shocked that I'm consistently getting 135+MB/s write and 130+MB/s read speeds using my USB 3.0 4TB Western Digital MyBook with BlackMagic Disk Speed tester... Much better than the 25-45 MB/s that I was getting when using the built-in USB 2.0 ports... Good enough for me!
