Meanwhile they’re perfectly fine with electric cars using a myriad of different plugs/standards (Mannekes, CCS, Tesla…) ?

Maybe Apple should propose and lightning to USB-C converter plug that they include with every phone?

As much as I'd hate to buy a bunch of new cables it would be much better for me that totally port less. I have a car with no wireless connections today so I'd have to get wireless charger and wireless CarPlay. I'd have to get wireless charger for home and to carry with me when I travel etc. As much as I'd hate to get a ton of new cables - better that port less.

Also (guessing) most cars don't support w/less CarPlay as yet. Well my 2019 car has an induction bay but my SE doesn't offer that option. So if I buy a future port less phone, things become a whole lot more complicated.
