Hi. Was wondering if this adapter does work on EL Captain with the updated driver?
How did it work out for you? It's supposed to arrive tomorrow. I'll test it and let you know how it worked for me.
How did it work out for you?
I too am interested in finding an external USB Wifi card (one that has a RP-SMA connector) that I can replace the stock (5dB) omni-directional antenna for a high-power directional WiFi antenna.
I have yet to find a compatible or installable USB Wifi Adapter that works under El Capitan....
Anyone know of one?
i cant see which one you are referring to. in the download section there is no mention of osx 10.11+ and downloads are all broken btw
I've been using a TP Link T2U WiFi dongle for sometime but as soon as I updated my Mac to el capitan, it stopped working! I was this close to buying a new one..then I found this solution...omg!!! Can't thank you enough!! This works!!! ???I have a Netgear N150 WNA1000M Micro Adaptor / RLL8188CUS and a MacBook Pro Mid 2011.
like everybody else, my Airport does not work. I replaced it and still doesn't work.
I downloaded this:
http://www.osx86.net/files/file/458...altek-wireless-usb-adapters-el-capitan-ready/
and my Netgear Mini now works GREAT !!!
Before you run this downloaded setup, I first had to keep the adaptor plugged and disable the System Integrity Protection as follows:
Good Luck !!
- Reboot the Mac and hold down Command + R keys simultaneously after you hear the startup chime, this will boot OS X into Recovery Mode
- When the “OS X Utilities” screen appears, pull down the ‘Utilities’ menu at the top of the screen instead, and choose “Terminal”
- Type the following command into the terminal then hit return:
csrutil disable; reboot- You’ll see a message saying that System Integrity Protection has been disabled and the Mac needs to restart for changes to take effect, and the Mac will then reboot itself automatically, just let it boot up as normal
