Use Airplay from one Mac to another to extend your display in macOS Monterey

Can anyone confirm if it's possible in Monterey to Airplay from one Mac to another and set it to extend the display? This would allow for older 5K iMacs to be used as external displays which would be amazing!

I’m interested in this as well. I actually just had to wonder about purchasing Luna Display for an employee at work to allow her to use her personal iMac as the best available external monitor for working for home. This would solve that need, a few months late, but it does bring up interesting possibilities for my creative department for those doing a hybrid work from home going forward…

Everyone is looking at this because monitor prices are insane right now. I thought that AirPlay just took multimedia output though.
