I had a go at porting Mage Bros. to Mac using the "Cider, RegEdit and HowTo" torrent on Demonoid, which contained the engine and a tutorial. I couldn't get it to work and the engine simply opened and closed as if there was no game inside it.

Can someone have a go? Mage Bros. is a very small game, but it's awesome. I love it.

Cheers,
Franklint

I get games that have already been Ported to Cider via "Legal Download" :D. Having said that, I did successfully port TrackMania Nations to Cider myself, although, not how you said. I installed it on a Windoze machine first then coped the directory into the package app itself. Quite Messy!

Anyway. The Sims 2 on mac is a port, but its not nice like Hitman, there's no /contents/resources/transgaming/ folder, its ported nativelike.

could you post how to extract cider and how to use it on games?

there are a few games that people have already cider ported just download one of them but if you want more info on how to do it yourself just email me at caboom-@hotmail.com

iv got these games working -
NFS Underground 2(on a GMA 950 graphics card frame rate slows down depending on quality)
NFS Most Wanted(on a ATI,RadeonHD2400 graphics card on full quality runs pretty smooth)
GTA Vice City(on a GMA 950 graphics card runs ok)

Hi, I'm new to the Mac community. A friend recently gave me her old G3 500MHz iMac (upgraded to 512mb & 10.3) & I've been converted! :D

One of the reasons I've been a PC/Windows owner for the past 10 years was the apparent lack of games available for Mac's. But since getting this old iMac I'm now desperate to escape the clutches of Windows (especially Vista) & buy a new iMac once Leopard comes out.

Getting back to the subject of gaming, I've just come across Cider (by TransGaming). I understand that if you download the demo of Myst Online you can extract the Cider program from the installer and apply it to any DirectX based Windows game. These games will then run from OS X instead of having to use Windows via Boot Camp.

As I'm a newbie to the Mac community, can anyone out there verify how well this product works at running Windows games (such as Far Cry, Half Life 2) from OS X?

Cheers.
:)

You can run far cry with cider and i think you may be able to get a non-steam version of HL 2 but if you want some help just give me your email and i will help you out because i have done a few using cider but you do need an intel mac
