Something that has been in dev for quite awhile now. I've given up waiting for it. :)

As for Valve's games in general, been a huge fan of them since HL was released in '97. Though I actually don't like TF2 at all. I come from playing the Team Fortress Classic mod from HL (and played in competitive league tournaments). TFC was a hell of a lot funner to play than TF2.

Shame to hear that. I suspect it has been cancelled and restarted at least once since it was announced. It may be the first game to use a completely new Source engine for all we know. Whatever the delay, it sets expectations high. Personally I would like to see a significant step up in simulated photorealism and physics that are unimaginable today.

Also a red crowbar controller for the game would be great.

----------

The first game is scarier and doesn't have silly over-powered weapons.

One of the best comparisons of the 2 games said "L4D1 is a Hitchcock thriller, L4D2 is a teen slash film". Even though the maps are the same the engine and director is completely different.

My experience is limited to the second game and it seems to have better characters, or they appeal to me more than the original's. Ellis in particular adds a lot of humour to the game; he reminds me a lot of Bill Paxton as Private Hudson in Aliens so if Valve is looking for ideas for a licensed game, I'm just saying...

In any case, when Ep. 3 arrives, the sys reqs will be way to steep for my Mac and I'll have no hope of running it at native resolution with all bells and whistles like I do with Ep. 1 & 2.

Of all the games I own, the only game I play when I need to relax is Counter-Strike; it seems that every other game either needs too much work or isn't fun at all.

<3 TF2.. but I can't seem to get into left for dead 2..

I think as I get older, learning new game is not fun anymore, lol. TF2 reminds me of RtCW:Enemy Territory which I played a lot, so it's easy to pick up...

L4D is fairly simple. You just go from saferoom to saferoom, no missions or anything beyond "hold off the enemies here for a bit" or "protect someone doing something here for a bit".

The first game is shorter and simpler though. Fewer weapons with more obvious differences, fewer types of zombies. I'd recommend mastering the first before moving onto the 2nd.

What the heck is up with Half Life? They seemed to be on a roll and then it stopped...could sales have fallen off with the last episode or are they too wrapped up with other projects? Hmm.

Half Life has always been a very popular franchise. I think they are just wrapped in other projects and see no need to start work on another Half Life game.
