Apple is not the type of company that requires threats and retaliation to make things right

They are refusing to replace mine even though they have attempted to fix the computer twice now and each time it comes back worse than it was before. I even contacted the sjobs email address and that guy was fairly rude about the whole situation. Said he wants to see the computer himself and get it fixed.

The Computer Store's cocky rugrats

I had to take my old Pismo into the computer store, and
I understand they deal with bozos all the time, but
I found their service to be lousy and overpriced. Worse yet,
there was a snotnose manager who showed zero inflexibilty
on charging me for five minutes, therefore an extra $45 half hour of service,
that was related to something THEY had overlooked in the first
service. The cockiness of these midgets drives me into the stratosphere
and I just hope the computer store knows how much business they drive away.

Apple has had great products like my pismo and dual 533mhz G4 still powering away,
and they have produced sheer junk like these Rev A intel macbooks. I dont know why
a company like Apple with at least a part-time loyal fan base doesnt take
responisibility for their mistakes, but I guess they feel above it all. I was going to
buy a video Ipod until I researched what a disaster they are. Dont believe the hype.
Search out complaints on all models and dont be the first to buy, and dont buy
the cheaper stuff, like the original single 400mhz G4s unless you want a paperweight
five years down the road.

Here's a message to Apple about the attitude. The computer is the canvas, the software
is the paintbrush and the user is the artist. The computer maker is not the artist. Those
stupid commercials with the cocky short little geek acting all superior to the PC guy, we all
know that there is a lot of great multimedia ware running on PCs by people who know what
they are doing. I dont know a single ipod user who doesnt hate Itunes, and I still have my
old mp3 encoder, because I dont have to deal with the handholding garbage that made people
hate Windoze in the first place. OSX is more stable, but also more in your face than OS9 was.
The art is still in musical instruments, cameras, and paintbrushes of artists. 3D is cool, fine,
but you still need to have a script. Stop acting like the computer is anything but a tool,
and when the company that makes the computers stops caring about making their tool
painless in its usability, then that company is going the way of the monster macroshaft. We've
all heard about Jobs ego, I hope he keeps it in check. The Mac Pro is pretty impressive, thank
god they did something where power trumps style, ie the drive bays. I find it hilarious that the quad G5 I tested fared no better than a dual 2.16 mackbook pro at rendering in FCP. Guess the chip change was worth it. Guess what, though, no old software will run on it natively. Whatever.

Nicely explain your problems and add some contact information. I can guarantee someone will call you to find a solution to your bad service.

I saw the post a couple up, but my only time I used this method ended up with excellent service and a nice solution to the problem.

My experience...

I'm really interested to hear other people have been having their cases damaged while being repaired.

I have a MBP that needed a logic board replaced so I took it to a reseller. When I picked it up, I found it had a small dent on the left-hand front fascia of the case. It kind of looked like it had been hit hard with the end of a screwdriver (no idea how they did it, but it wasn't there when I dropped it off).

I complained and after some discussion the reseller agreed to replace the bottom case. So a week later I went back again to pick it up.

The bottom case had been replaced, but the fit was terrible - there was a visible gap along the edge. I told them it wasn't good enough. They tried to convince me that was just how they were. I refused to accept that - all of their display models were perfect.

They took it back into the workshop and tightened the screws before returning. To my horror, I saw that this had made the whole front of the aluminium case bend and bulge outwards. They couldn't see a problem...

I told them I wasn't going to accept it, and that they could keep it until they could make it like new. I'm overseas at the moment and haven't seen it yet, but I'm told it is now back to normal. Apparently they had to contact Apple to get permission to replace the bottom case a second time.

Needless to say I won't be returning to that reseller. If it's not perfect, I might try that steve@ address and see what happens.
