To everyone who has this issue;

You need to do a Restore in iTunes on your iPad. Once you do that DO NOT reinstall from a backup. You need to select 'Set up new device.'

I guarantee this will fix your problems. I went from a 3 hour+ backup to about 4 minutes. I synced my entire iTunes Library, over 11 gigs, in less than 15 minutes.

Trust me, this works.

This is true but it is not a fix for everyone. If some are using an older version of iToner, they can restore and restore but they will still have the same problem. The fix is to either delete the iToner.bundle or upgrade to the newest version of iToner. Also, you can disable backups via the software at the link I posted.

Yes, but you don't need to go through all that. I also have iToner installed. It's the iPad software from the factory that's causing the issue.

But then you will lose all the data from your apps. So I think this should be the last resort. Before doing that, I'd try deleting your backup and try doing a fresh backup. To delete the backup, go to iTunes > Edit > Preferences > Devices, select the backup you want to delete and click "delete."

That won't work. And yes it's a real PITA to have to do this. But it works. Issue solved.

Not going to work. Nor will deleting iTunes. iToner was the culprit.

We will have to agree to disagree or at least have two different methods providing the same solution. I simply deleted iToner.bundle and all my problems went away. I didn't bother to restore. I did however delete iTunes a few times but the problem came back. I deleted iToner.bundle, shut off backups and I am good to go.

As a follow up, I updated iToner to the latest version and things a SO MUCH faster now. The iPad shows up immediately upon connect whereas before, it took several minutes just for iTunes to show it was connected. Add a few more for sync to begin. I'm much happier now. ;)
