Nice but.. who really cares about the boot time?

You reboot your Mac whenever an update requires it. Other than that: never.

True. I almost never shutdown all my Macs. Only to reboot and sleep.

But the main point here is to benchmark the speed of intializing kernel image, loading processes and extentions. It gives a sense of how fast the mac can process storage and put to ram space.
