I'll be starting a Youtube channel and also want to do some interviews in podcast format. All of this will be breaking new ground so I have some basic questions regarding overall setup. I assume that for the most part I won't be tethering my Canon EOS DSLR to keep freedom of hand held shooting. For short interviews I might want to set up a tethered rig. I would like recommendations as to best software and microphone for setting tethered rig up. I read that in-camera mic puts camera AF sounds on track. I have a Yeti Pro USB mic but I have never used it with my cameras. I think it's too big and could not be powered by the camera. What's a good, light mic for taking in to the field?, that won't break the bank? Best newb software? iMovie? I have a high Sierra Mac Pro and a late 2016 MacBook Pro with Mojave. Any general tips for beginners appreciated, as well.
