Now that I've compared between the insert & sticker, I like the stick more and it's less work to apply. I am saving the other two I have for future MacBooks I may buy. :)

They're out of stock, and I'd really like to purchase one. Does anyone know of another site that offers them?

Why do you like the sticker more? Is it just because of the amount of work needed to install the insert? Does the sticker actually look better than the insert?

Does the sticker only look good on your Air because you have that Speck case over it? If you didn't have the Speck case on, would it just look like you put a sticker over the apple logo?

I'm considering buying the insert to install on my White MacBook. When you installed yours, could you see the rainbow at all through the white shell of the casing, or was it only visible in the apple logo? My concern is that after I install it, I'll be able to see a faded square of the rainbow insert when the logo is lit up.

On the white MacBook, only the Apple logo will glow through. The white MacBook is A LOT of work to get the insert to show/glow. It's not your average DIY.

On the Air, it works better with the Speck case due to the possiablity that the stick may peal off from constant rubbing.

Hope this helps.

^^^^ Thanks for your reply. :)

When you say A LOT of work, what do you mean? Am I going to be sanding for 3 hours or something?

I used 1000 grid sandpaper (wet) and then 2000 grid (wet). Then polish with 3M rubbing compound for cars and finish with 3M sealer. I also polished the outside case with NuFinish to keep the shine. It's a lot more work than I had imagine prior to doing it. But I am very happy with the results and it looks different from most out there.
