I've downloaded vista RC2.
I tried to install it but after booting on DVD, even if DVD seems to have some activity, the screen stay totally black during the install procedure.

Any idea ?

My configuration :
Mac Pro 2 x 2,66
2Go RAM
ATI X1900 XT
Cinema HD 23''

Had the same problem. It has something to do with the 23" ACD.
Connect any other older monitor, then install Vista (directly from the DVD), plug the ACD back once the installation is complete.

During start up the screen will go black but will eventually load up Vista. (start up does take longer than on my MBP. but then again, the MBP does not have the black screen during start up issues).

I've tried with an old monitor ...
I can access to Vista install screen, but when i tried to format the MS-DOS partition created with diskutil of Mac OS, it failed with this error message :

"This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu"

The partition was in FAT 32 format and GUID partition scheme was enabled ...
If you have any idea ?

hmm... i used the NTFS format. i dont think vista supports fat 32 (i could be wrong about this though)

else, you could try installing XP and then updating it to vista.

I didn't try to install Vista on a FAT 32 partition.
I just create it on OSX using disk utility (with GUID Partition table selected).
Once booting on Vista installation disk, i tried to format it in NTFS ... but it fails with some strange error messages :

Fisrt attempt (first boot) :
"This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu"

Then i tried to delete it and create a new one, same failure.

Second attempt (second reboot).
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk, The selected disk is of the GPT partition style"

Installing vista is to difficult to me ... i'll try windows xp pro.

Just for information, the result of "diskutil list" command line before fisrt vista installation try :
/dev/disk0
#: type name size identifier
0: GUID_partition_scheme *232.9 GB disk0
1: EFI 200.0 MB disk0s1
2: Microsoft Basic Data WINDOWS 232.6 GB disk0s2
/dev/disk1
#: type name size identifier
0: GUID_partition_scheme *232.9 GB disk1
1: EFI 200.0 MB disk1s1
2: Apple_HFS Systeme 99.9 GB disk1s2
3: Apple_HFS Data 132.6 GB disk1s3
