OS X was not built from the ground up, it was based on NeXT software which was based on freeBSD which was based on the original BSD which was based on bell labs UNIX.

Well, ground up compared to OS9. Vista looks to be more like what Copland was gonna be.

It may have been, but what I'm getting at is OS X was a complete change in architecture to, yes perhaps an old tried and tested base, a new way of thinking and more possibilities than os 9 had. It was a generation skip. It's what windows needs, rather than building on more and more old code.

I have Vista Beta 2 (from microsoft, legal beta) and I WAS impressed. They've really tried to improve things, although there is a fundamental problem - they should have rebuilt the OS from the ground up, like OS X was. Instead it's built on XP/NT with a hella lot of inefficient code. So, although I was impressed, it does feel like pack horse carrying twice it's load.

Don't pirate software, even if this was originally free. Just wait until Beta 3 or the final version (a.k.a Beta 4 :p)

don't believe there's going to be a "beta 3". They'll be newer builds for beta 2, then Preview Candidates.

It's licensed for one user. You aren't allowed to "split" the licence in half.

i understand that... if he has 2 legit keys and is only using one then your answer does not make sense....

if i pay for 2 keys for (whatever) software, and i install one on my computer and then give one to my friend... that is perfectly legal...

so i still dont understand your arguement...
