I used youmail (youmail.com) back in the day with Verizon.

I use it with my iPhone now to since it's not carrier dependent.

Every time someone calls, I get a txt message...even if they went straight to voice mail, etc. Nice not to miss calls. I get the txt even if they don't leave a vm. It actually say "no message left" if they don't leave one.

They do have an iPhone app that allows you to preview, listen to and save any voice mail in any order that you wish.

A really cool thing about youmail is you can have diff voice mails for diff numbers. I had a person always calling that I didn't want to talk to, so I selected a voice mail for them that uses a "this number has been disconnected" prerecorded message. Never heard from him again. :)
 
Google voice transcribes and will send a text and/or email. The transcriptions seem to be about 60% accurate. It shades areas it is normally wrong though.

Yeah, I was thinking for my regular AT&T VM though. Thanks, GV is an option.
