VM Debian 12 not updating

Debian 12 as Parallels VM on Sonoma. Trying to update from Software window fails, giving this:

"sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -f" doesn't work. Any ideas?

Eventually, I managed to do the update via Synaptic Package Manager. All runs OK now.

It just works, words you'll never associate with Linux.
