I use Fusion and I like it a lot. I've tried a few 3D games on it, and those didn't work so well, and at this point, both VMWare and Parallels claim to support 3D gaming. Parallels may be a little better at that, but it was less important to me than the speed and stability that most people told me Fusion offered over Parallels. I was pretty sure I would go with VMWare, and when I found out my university had obtained several copies at the pre-order price of $39.99 compared to Parallel's $79.99, it was an even easier choice.

Any particular feature that one touts over the other will probably very soon be supported by both, and new features will be the ones in question. They're both supposed to be very good, but my vote goes to Fusion. Unless you plan to do much 3D gaming as well--then BootCamp is definitely best.

BTW, not all of us use a BootCamp partition for our virtual machines. I, for one, still use Tiger, while I wait for the bugs to be weeded out of Leopard (plus I'm a poor college student), so BootCamp is no longer an option. Fusion emulates XP faster than my old PC ran it, still, so I have no complaints. Other than not being able to play some of my Windows games, but that's what a Wii is for.

What kind of school do you go to? If it's possible to buy Fusion from your school, they may have gotten some preorders at the cheaper price. I got lucky :D
