Thank you! I will try it tomorrow and let you know. Your theory makes perfect sense. I wonder if it will readjust after using the AirPods with other devices after this procedure. Or if we might need to reset the AirPods when switching to another device.
Thanks again!

Hello, sorry for bringing this thread from the ashes, but before I buy Airpods, I just wanna know from all you guys, is the fix you applied for low volume on iPod Nano 7th generation is still working fine? I don't mind performing the steps mentioned to fix the issue as long as it retains and I don't like listening music on my phone and watch!

IT WORKS!!! Thank you!!!

Is it still working to the current date?

It works PERFECTLY! The only issue is that if you “pair” the AirPods with another device and then reconnect to the nano it might not keep the volume. So just repeat the process and it works. Summary: as long as the AirPods are connected to the nano, no problem.

You got iPod Nano 7th gen?

Yes..

But i have found a solution easier that worked for me.. i found it on the apple discussions website:

After pairing the AirPods with the Nano

1) Go into settings on the iPod and turn off Bluetooth.

2) Press and hold the home and power button until the device turns off, and the apple logo comes up you can release both buttons

3) Open the music app on the iPod (I tried this with the podcast app, and it didn't work)

3) Start any song and turn the volume all the way up.

4) Go into settings and turn on the Bluetooth and connect the AirPods (this process can be accomplished without the AirPod's charging case)

5) If it worked, the AirPods will start playing at a really loud volume so be prepared.

And is this method still working for you in today's date?

I wanna buy Airpods, but I don't wanna buy a new iPod and wanna use them with my iPod NANO 7th Gen only. So, the volume issue can be fixed?

Yes ! I have found today the solution.. But both times that I tested I had to try twice before it worked.. and when I switch the airpod to iPhone i had to start again this solution.. but it was very quickly at least..

Now I can finally sell my apple watch and buy a garmin instead..

I have just tried my brand new AirPods (love them by the way), with my iPod Nano (7th Gen), and while they pair up just fine, the volume is too quiet to be listenable anywhere but a totally silent room.

What are the chances that we will get a software update on the Nano to resolve this issue, or are us iPod users just too niche to worry about anymore?
I fixed my AirPods problem!!!!! I just restored my iPod nano 7th gen and it worked!!!
