I am secretly holding out for carbon fibre.

Can't wait to see black CF macbook pros, really goes very well with my Gitzo tripods :D

So those rumors regarding dual optical drives, well... what are they for?
Heck...whatever they are for, i still vote for enhancing the aluminium case!

The G5 case generally didn't have any flaws unless you count the size and weight "issues".

Unlike Apple's other desktops and laptops, looks aren't really a selling point in comparison with power and upgrade options in their Power Macs.
I think the G5 achieved the cool and functional approach it attempted.

That said, I'd really like to see Apple change their overall trend in the Intel-switch and release something that's somewhat different from the G5; even a modification such as the black Macbook would be refreshing.

I really hope this will be the PowerMac, not MacPro. Don't start a discussion about what it will be called.:D

I really like the G5 design, and aluminum. I don't hope they change it with the MBP or PM. I voted for pure G5 design!:D

G5 design is cool, but I want more space for additional 3.25'' and 5.25'' drives.

I never heard of such drives. I only know of 2.5" (laptop) and 3.5" (desktop) HDD's. I actually believe there is a chance of 4 HDD Bays, since they won't have to use so much space on cooling. The PowerMac G4 had 4 HDD bays...

5.25 drives are optical drives (CD/DVD) for desktop computers, 3.5 are the largest hard drives for desktop computers

I'd really like to see a completely new look. G4/G3 is been there done that. And G5 is basically the same. If you wow the customers, then they will buy like mad. ;) It's an Apple Addict's nature.

I'd like it to stay the same but maybe add a second optical drive and more HDD bays:) i'm still using a Powermac G4 an haven't had the pleasure of owning a g5 in that design, so i hope they don't chnage it :)

To tell the truth, i believe this thread should have been posted, 1 year ago. That would be the time i take it that Apple prolly began creating the whole project called "MacPro Plastic Surgery". Now im afraid that, even if Steve took ever a glimpse to what we all users are saying, its too late for Apple to take any ideas from us! Then again i dont care ill say what i have to say :D

Damn it, Steven when will u ever gonna appear in this forum and have a chit chat with some of us users and hear us out? I know u are busy but heck arent we all! ;)

Amen!

MacBook - Notebook for the consumer
MacBook Pro - Notebook for the pro
iMac - The Mac for i (me), which is the consumer
PowerMac - The Mac for the user which requires a lot of power, which is the pro
MacMini - for the kids:D :p

I just realized that the G5 is nearly 3 years old, I think it's due for a new design!

time has nothing to do with it, taste does! :)
