I see. You could also try connecting directly to the IP address of the PC (also listed under ipconfig).

Well our IP addresses are changed every 1/4 but I think the problem I was having last night was that I didn't have the whole domain name. I'm hoping this was the problem and I won't have any more problems.

I am glad you asked that question. I was wondering that myself. I was told here at work that cisco vpn wouldn't work with a mac. So I would have to keep my gateway for my work away from work work. lol got it?

It'll work, even without the Cisco VPN client.

Try this:
Go to Applications/Internet Connect
Select VPN (PPTP)
Enter your VPN server address, user name and password
Click connect

I was using the Cisco client till last week, when I decided to try out the OS X native VPN client. I was misled by the Group Name/Password in the Cisco client software - I thought that meant they were required ... they're not as long as you've connected once before to the VPN. Now I'm Cisco VPN client-free.

As for peterh2o's Remote Desktop connection issue - well, I wasn't connecting to my PC at work, but I set it up yesterday to accept Remote Desktop connections, and it works flawlessly (I turned down colors to thousands, and selected the 56kB/s modem option even though I have DSL). I have a feeling that the issue is at peter2ho's PC side.
