I dont think the IPP is the death of Wacom but I do believe it is possible for Apple to create a better cintiq then wacom has done. How accurate the pencil is eye boggling for something that doesnt even have nor need a calibration program. It does not suffer from any of the problems the traditional cintiq does like inaccuracy along the edges and constantly bad drivers. Apple tends to push the envelope more on their products like making them thinner with better colors and better resolutions and designs. Wacom seems to do as little as possible while getting as much money as possible.

It is a shame that Apple no longer appeals to artists like they once did and now just concentrate on the masses. I really do think they could create a killer cintiq product if they wanted too.

i vote for this! apple pencil on a big 30" screen and another one on a 15" or bigger giant tablet! that would win me over. but really pro artists are such a small niche, it really makes much more sense to go after larger markets. please apple kill the cintiq!

I agree with you that I want all future iPads to support pencil. The iPad Pro is great on the desk, but I find the iPad mini's form factor to be the best when on the go. Having pencil support on the mini will be awesome, and it will be the reason I upgrade my mini 2.

I would love to see the Pencil become a common accessory that works across Apple's stable of devices.

I think it's inevitable that in a few years time Apple will release a large format touch based desktop/tablet hybrid with an iMac-like form factor. It would be awesome to have Pencil on such a display.

I don't get OPs criticism - I don't think anyone *wants* Pencil limited to iPad Pro, but we simply expect that is Apple's plan for the near future.

Knowing Apple though, I feel this could go either way. I think either the Pencil becomes a key Apple accessory, or it's going to slowly fade away. I don't see it being an accessory that is well supported and updated but exclusive to one product. They either expand its compatibility, or the current Pencil is the only one we'll ever see. That's my prediction.

I think future IPad Air and future Ipad mini should support the pencil to allow people to believe they are truely getting something.

hopefully apple has gathered enough data to know people are not upgrading every version anymore and plan on something better to get people to upgrade. There seems to be plenty of people who are fine with what they got and could care less about spec bumps.

I have nothing to add to this but I did want to say I really like that Mickey, very cool! Did you draw that?

Unless the OP is Jerrod Maruyama, he most definitely didn't draw it. Drawing is created by Jerrod Maruyama, and that's his famous "Hipster Mickey" series.

OP - credit the original artist next time please. :)
