I'm an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic, and recently bought a Z Fold 4. But was scared of it not holding up with the work I do.

Currently using a Pixel 7 Pro that my wife hated. But I also have the itch to come back to iPhone. A friend told me I should just wait for the 15.

Sage advice? I do know TMobile still sells the 13 PM but coming from Android, I feel I'd be missing the Always on display.

10 months is too much to wait in my opinion, and it is not looking like it will be a very meaningful update (unless you need USB-C).

Depending on the price for the 13 PM, I would go for that one. I have the 14 PM and find the Always on display kind of useless, but I do have an Apple Watch which kind off negates the need for a AOD on the phone.

The 13 PM is $999. Not much cheaper.

TMO is giving $800 off with a trade in for an old Note 10 I have. Not bad.
I'd go with the 13PM for that deal. The 14 Pro series doesn't add much (AOD, slightly faster and 48 MP main camera). 15 Pro series will just be camera improvements, slightly faster chip, USB C and (I'll believe it when I see it) switch to a titanium frame. We're at a point of diminishing returns and knowing this Apple has been rationing upgrades so there is something for next year.

The fun part now is finding a 13PM in stock.

Just go with a 14 PM then, the 13 PM price doesn't seem worth it. But I wouldn't wait 10 months if you need it now. If we were in July sure, I'll tell you wait. But the iPhone 14 PM still has most of its life as the latest and greatest ahead of it.

Yes agree with @JCCL .
If you need it now, get a phone now. Two months after launch is still a good buy. And only $100 off for the 13pro isn’t exciting…. Just go with 14pro and rest assured you got Apple’s best right now.

Now, space black, or purple? 😁
SILVER!!! see it in person you won’t be disappointed.

But for sure purple. You won’t regret being fancy ;) make sure you really like purple because it is PURPLE. not a dark purple or anything.

See in person if you can though. Preferably at Apple Store.

That’s what I did and my takeaway was “too purple”
“Too black”
“Gold. Nah not feeling it”
“Silver. Yes”

Given that you’ve gone from a folding phone (quite expensive) to a pixel phone (moderately expensive), I’d assume getting a third phone isn’t going to be a major expense.
So… buy the 13 or 14 pro now… And then sell it for like 85% of what you paid for it in nine months to get the 15.
Used/refurbished 13Pros still go for $800+, if you want an iPhone now, but the features of the 15 also interest you, it’s not like it’s going to be that hard to sell in nine months.
And the best part is if the 15 comes out and it doesn’t have you interested in the slightest, you can just keep using your 13. Or you’re 14, whatever you end up going with.

To me, when it comes to gadgets, there is always something new.

If getting a good trade in, I’d take advantage of it. Even more so if you ‘need’ a new/newer device.

After all, we only live once and all that…

The Fold will be returned. Will probably sell the Pixel.

This question always comes up between iPhone launches. My own opinion is that unless you're a month or less from the launch of the next model, just buy.

I mean, if you're always waiting for the launch of the next iPhone model - you'll be waiting until Apple launches the final model it will ever make.

Love my silver 11 Pro, wouldn’t go any other color again.
It wears nicely, just like intended since the iPhone 4, and slims down the bezels better than any other color option.

I would try to find a second hand 13 pro reasonable priced. It shouldn't loose too much value in 10 months in case you decide to sell. It's very unlikely that 15 will be a massive jump from 13 or 14.

I'm looking at the Pro Max models. Not the Pro, fyi.

If you're spending that amount, I'd suggest 14PM.

The 13 is a light update on the 12. The 14 is a major update of the main camera sensor and obviously the Island. The 15 is a periscope camera update and USB-C. No real improvements. If you're not desperate for a phone, wait. If you want one now, 14.
