I had the same job as the original poster but I escaped that job and retired. Since you have that fold I just go to the cell phone store and see what they have in iPhones and then decide at that time after you look at all the offers and the different phones. There is no way as group here can really decide what works for you. The pro and cons of the various models of iPhones is so much. The latest iPhones 14's all over crash detection and the pro models are probably what you want to look at. I went from a 11 Pro to a 14 Pro and would have kept the 11 Pro but the one issue I ran into was buying 64GB of storage. This time I went for the 512GB Pro. I know the Pro Max is a really nice phone but the size made it impossible for me to work the phone one handed and the 14 Pro was just the right size barely.

What is your phone not doing now that you need another one, besides your wife not liking it, and what does an aircraft sheet metal job have to do with holding up? Are you pounding out sheet metal with your phone?

Buy a phone now if you need one. But if you can wait clearly you don't need one.

If you’re interested in 48 megapixel resolution photography like I am, then get the 14 Pro series. that’s what I usually do is upgrade just for the cameras. Otherwise the 13 Pro Max will probably do just fine if you’re not taking very many photos. That’s basically the only difference between the two other than the display is the cameras, all of the apps and functions of the iPhone work the same on both models.

Yes, wait. All the rumours and leaks point to the iPhone 15 Ultra being a game changer.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

Lots of rumors flying - titanium chassis? Curved back-plate? Solid-state buttons? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ should be interesting. I suppose it could be a “Game changer” depending on… the game?

The fun part now is finding a 13PM in stock.

Don't bother getting an older 13 Pro when the battery is probably already on its last leg. Just get a new 14 Pro and call it a day. Plenty of deals out there and 4-5 years of support off the top.
