What AMD chip would they use the Nile?

Who knows but if apple ever switched to AMD chips, the people who gripped about the heat on the rev A MBA would surely without a doubt grippe about the heat from an AMD chip in a notebook the size of an air.

When Apple uses a CPU and GPU it will definitely learn from past mistakes. Heat is a huge enemy. I don't know what Apple will use in its next MBA, but it will not return the MBA to the original with major heat problems.

I believe Apple learns its lessons well... it always learns at the expense of the suckers who buy the first edition of its products. About the best example is the original MBA. Apple screwed all of them over badly by selling them crap and then dropping the price to near nothing furthering the loss.

If Zacate is a solution that will work in the MBA without major heat problems Apple will use it. I don't believe what the poster before you said that Apple using AMD means it will be hot.

I also believe if Apple uses AMD CPU/chipsets in the next MBAs, 13" MBPs, and MBs, that it will introduce a new AMD CPU and chipset not on any roadmap. AMD would bend over backwards to get that deal, and surely let Apple introduce the products just as Nvidia did with the 9400m GPU/chipsets.

Considering Apple has $8 Billion in profits and AMD's total assets is 9 Billion with 293 Million in Profits. I'm sure AMD would bend over backwards to the point of snapping to score a deal that snags them $25 Million in profits
