I'm truly impressed with my new 13" MacBook Air, even though it died a video / who knows why death.
Oh sure I'm disappointed but I have faith, and many excellent past experiences with AppleCare, where it resides at the moment. I never buy a new Mac Laptop without it, and this time was no exception.
I ordered it (BTO 4GB) on release day & received it just one week later. Immediately I set it up and put it into service, using it heavily till it died. Took it to a genius at my Apple store who confirmed what I reported and exchanged it for a new one. The next day it died the same as the first.
Now fully hooked on the size, light weight & fun factor I'm in near withdrawals without it. Being the laptop addict I am, I decided to buy a similar, yet different model from a competitor, so I ordered a CTO Sony VAIO Y. That was yesterday, to my surprise today I received this email from Sony:

A pretty impressive approach, one that keeps the customer informed and feeling like their business is appreciated.
While I already know I will still prefer my MBA once / if, they get it repaired. But in the mean time I will have the VAIO to enjoy and I paid just half as much as I did for the MBA.
