Hard to imagine them going back to the cursed design.

If it turns out they do however - how about placing power light and button in a spot you can actually see and reach... ahem.

I have mine with the ports and power button facing towards me. I don't know why you would have it backwards.

A 6.1 Mac pro with M2 would be ideal. It's a really great design - and looks simply amazing. Portable, stylish & simply works. Give it a refresh. Make is 1" less dia, and 2" higher to set it apart. Same finish. Just with massively upgraded everything.
PLEASE.

It's not a great design, it's a mediocre design.

No matter how pretty it is as a decorative object, slathering on decorative minimalism, like a coloured plastic fascia on a late 1990s Compaq tower, doesn't excuse a device which, as a matter of course, destroys its own components as a direct consequence of its design.

Humm…it is the same with the intel MacBook Pro 2016-2019.

Nice design…”looks” good, but the design is killing the internal components too, requiring replacements within two years…

My MacBook Pro 2018 has had everything inside replaced. The tech joked with me when giving my MacBook Pro 2018 back and said (laughing) you have had everything replaced except the screen..it is a new computer..”

No…all of the parts under Apple Care are refurbished parts for a $4,000+ product that’s life projection is two to three years. Make the repair outside of Apple care expensive enough so you buy instead a new product. They just gave it life support for two more years so they can legally go past their liability. By 2022, the world has forgotten a 2018 product or care..except for the chump like me who paid over $4,000+ for it…

Lol. Pretty sure I'm not the one placing it backwards. ? Having the ports face the user presents new interesting challenges for cable management for sure, aside from the rather ...utilitarian looks. Plus, reaching the power button becomes only marginally easier: you still have to squeeze between network and power cable and ideally not be using that HDMI port. It would almost be easier to just put it on the bottom of the unit...?

Yes, Apple is a company that decorates with minimalism, and designs butterfly keyboards, and melting GPUs.

Design is how it works, and Apple's design frequently works poorly.

Clearly designed by a very talented person at the apogee of his career.

High-end materials , exquisite colors and all lines based on an ellipse ...
...except for the pedestal: this stands out and reminds me of a dinosaur's foot.
Could the designer have been inspired by Jurassic Park?

I think you’re looking for a Mac Mini, bud.
