Been waiting for an updated iPad experience
An updated iPad experience requires software updates and at the very least feature parity with the iOS.

I love my iPad Pro but it’s just hard to gauge Apple’s interest in making it anything more than a benchmark brag. At this point we should have some powerful pro level software but iPads dont even have a weather app or a calculator yet (and with iPadOS11 then we’re missing more features missing like translator, widget placement and emoji search.)

That said, I’m excited for any Apple event.

What do you mean by missing translator? On iPadOS 14b7, translator’s working OK for me in Safari.

That said, I’ve always thought it stupid that iPads don’t have a built-in calculator app when devices with even bigger displays such as Macs have it.

Well, now Big Sur doesn’t have a widget for the calculator... It was really handy, I don’t know why they removed it.

I’m probably more excited than I should be. I have a working iPad Mini, but I wouldn’t mind an upgrade. It’s my most-used device, so I expect to upgrade it more than my phone (which I upgrade every few years). I hope we get something enticing.

I aim to replace my iPad mini 3, aged six or so, with an iPad Air 4. AirPower, if that's what we can take from looking at the ribbon to be cable mess, might be interesting for me and my family.

Beyond that, I am sitting on my devices. iOS14 is smooth and quick on my iPhone X - no need to shift there.

Any place but here or there....
Waiting to see if new iPad model(s) have more RAM and Apple Pencil 2 compatibility, if yes to both, I may upgrade my 2019 iPad.

No phones, watches here. Eager for an AS Mac and a beefier iPad. I’ll be tuning into the event after it starts due to more important things (Job etc.)

I always love to see new Apple gadgets, but I don’t know that I’ll be buying.

I got the 2nd gen 11” iPP in the spring, AW 5 shortly after (wasn’t planning to replace my 4 til the 6, but I got $100 off on Amazon and just couldn’t pass it up - sold my 4 cellular and wound up only spending about $30 total), and replaced my iPhone 11 with an SE2020 that I am really happy with.

I could possibly replace the phone if the new ones offer something besides what we’ve seen in the rumors, but as of now, I think I’m good.

I totally agree with you. The newer Pro models (even the 10.5) are vastly overpowered for what even iPadOS 14 requires. On a positive note, if they continue the trend, said iPads will easily be able to handle 5+ years of support.

Any particular reason you switched from 11 to SE? Doesn't it seem like a downgrade?? Unless you wanted a smaller form factor.

Great deal on the apple watch though...!

iPhone has an actual Translator app that doesnt exist on iPad. You’re right that the translator for safari works so thats good but its always just odd whenever an app exists for iPhone but not for iPad.

I just hate that the iPad gets treated like a second class citizen. When they introduced iPadOS then it felt like the iPad would finally break free of the “big iPhone” stereotype and really take off. But in retrospect it seems like they branched off iPadOS because that makes it easier to leave the platform behind.

Super excited. Not expecting the phones, but I’m pretty hyped for the new iPad Air based off the rumors. I’m hoping the watch provides some improvements. There is nothing wrong with my current one, but I bought the AL model temporarily with hopes to get the stainless when the 6 comes out. More importantly, I’m hoping for an iOS14 release later that week! Along with the Apple One offering to see what that bundle includes. I don’t know how or why i get so captivated at the thought of Apple events, but the always leave me wanting to upgrade even if the updates aren’t practically worth the cost xD it takes me a good month to get past the urge, but definitely excited.

It’s a two hours event for only iPads and Watch, so what you said make sense.

Look at this: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...oldable-mobile-phone-display-samples.2253668/

What about a foldable iPad?

Provided this will be the iPad keynote (I’m not sure they’ll announce the new iPhones), I’m specially excited about the cheap Base iPad model. It needs desperately an update, and replacing the OLD A10 with a not-so-old A12 (let’s be honest, they won’t put an A13 on the base iPad), is a great deal for me. And hopefully 4GB of RAM? Well, I guess we’ll be stuck at 3GB.

Another approach, which would be brilliant by the way, could be ditching the current 10.2 base iPad and replacing it with the current Air 3 at a lower price tag.

Been waiting for an updated iPad experience

Anybody else excited?

Looking forward to seeing the iPad Air 4. I hope that the rumours turn out to be true, and that it’s available right on the 15th
