Provided this will be the iPad keynote (I’m not sure they’ll announce the new iPhones), I’m specially excited about the cheap Base iPad model. It needs desperately an update, and replacing the OLD A10 with a not-so-old A12 (let’s be honest, they won’t put an A13 on the base iPad), is a great deal for me. And hopefully 4GB of RAM? Well, I guess we’ll be stuck at 3GB.

Another approach, which would be brilliant by the way, could be ditching the current 10.2 base iPad and replacing it with the current Air 3 at a lower price tag.

Sounds like what I'm eagerly waiting to see. I currently have a 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 128gb.
Lately, it has started locking up periodically for a moment and then recovers. Some lag here and there.
It's been great over the years but have also started looking at the 2019 iPad Mini with the A12. I like the form factor of the Mini and my 9.7 Pro seems a tad heavy. Used to think the 4 speakers were the bomb, and truly they have great sound, but primarily use earpods now.

If they spec bump the base iPad to an A12 proc, I may buy that.

Anyone have a guess at what Apple would offer as a trade-in for a 128gb 2016 iPad Pro?

I hate how I have to keep saying this, but theres no guarantee that it'll be a two hour event. That time frame is just a placeholder.

Well, that’s true. However, I still think the iPad and Watch announcement will last less than an hour (40-50min), and Apple has never made an event this short.

Two words I keep hoping to hear at an Apple event. Available TODAY... still waiting after all these years.

I have a 7 year old tablet that needs an update. It's very much a secondary device for me, mostly used for reading and annotating documents, so the Pro is overkill, hence I'm interested in an update to the low or mid range devices. Once this announcement is made I'll know what all of the options are for the next 6 months or so, so then I can make my choice.

I am just excited to see if they have some special iPad planned like they did for the iPhone X, I just have a feeling they will announce the Watches then iPad then iPad Air then one more thing iPad X shipping November 2020, I just have a gut feeling something like that is coming...

I doubt it. Apple has stepped away from anniversaries machines and the like. The x was the natural progression of their design and every other iPhone followed had the same design except for the se. So someone called it a special moment or something when x was shown. It wasn’t marketed an anniversary edition and the same will apply to iPad too whose ten year anniversary came and went in spring without any celebration as usual.

Looking forward to seeing the iPad Air 4. I hope that the rumours turn out to be true, and that it’s available right on the 15th

Exactly. Neither do we know what’s coming nor how long the event will be.

This is true, however the event will be pre-recorded (like WWDC) so without the “fluff“ of having to wait for people clapping and people coming on and off stage, the event will not last as long. Personally I would love to see an ARM based Mac and updated iPads.

In and around the D.
As for the length of the event, also consider: Apple usually spends a fair amount of time reintroducing all the OS updates, setting up the announcement of their launch dates.

OS review/demo for iPhone, iPad, Watch and Mac + new Watch + new iPads + AppleOne bundles sounds like a pretty solid 90 minutes (give or take) to me.
