We are extremely excited to announce the release of our application AlarmTunes, written exclusively for iPhone OS 3.0.

In short, we wanted to make a simple and reliable Alarm Clock that would make waking up in the morning much more enjoyable for ourselves and our customers.

Here are a few screenshots and our excerpt from iTunes with more detail.

Transform your iPhone or iPod Touch into your morning wake up call with AlarmTunes!

Got it! It's pretty much an app I've always wanted but never thought Apple would allow. Great work, I'm curious if multiple alarms are in the works.

Ooh, i will have to try this out. I currently have a Samsung Instinct and if I want to wake up with some music I have to make a ringtone and that only gives me 30 seconds of repetitive tunes to wake up with.

I agree with Gokunama, multiple alarms would be great. I always set three for early morning wake-ups and it's a lifesaver for people like me who tend to hit the snooze and roll back in bed for a few extra minutes of sleep. That third one always gets me up.

Very cool app. Something I've always wanted.:)

Unfortunately, I made all my songs I wanted into ringtones. I'll be sending you a PM shortly, though:)

Isn't this pretty much the same as the alarm on the phone itself? Ok i was wrong. I just looked at it. It does not show the time. I guess I will have to download this since I want to start using the phone as my alarm clock. Just like they said in the info...too much junk. Time for a yard sale.

Nice app but just have to remember to allow the ipod/iphone to sleep while in the app and not quit it

Could lead to over-sleeping accidently

So does the app stay open when when it locks or does the app close and then wake up at the right time?

Is there an iPod sleep timer in this? Or at the very least, will it leave my music playing if I start a track in the iPod app, then launch AlarmTunes?

My current favorite Alarm Clock app has a sleep timer but no ability to wake to my iPod music, my second alarm will wake to my iPod music but kills the music that is playing whenever I launch the app. I'd love an app that could have both a sleep timer and wake to music.

No you can't open the app without the the ipod music being killed.

We appreciate all the great feedback, and we are really happy to hear the positive response to our app.

Multiple alarms will be available in the upcoming update and we are definitely glad to see the enthusiasm for this feature.

To address a few questions, the app will go into energy saving mode if unplugged or if the user presses the sleep button. Battery life will be spared and the alarm will sound at the appropriate time.

Music can be played in app by using the preview button (prior to the alarm going off.) A sleep timer would be a great compliment to this and we will definitely consider this for an upcoming update!

Thanks again guys, please feel free to contact us with continued feedback.

Is it possible to set the colors of the numbers, background, and buttons? If so, I will probably buy this app. Otherwise, not a chance.

For use at night, the background should be pure black. Otherwise, it will easily light up a dark room and would be bothersome to look at upon awakening in the night. Numbers and buttons should be red, with selectable bright/dim modes. There should be no white or silver or any color other than black and red onscreen at all. Perhaps the buttons could be hidden until the screen is tapped. The entire screen should function as a snooze button, anyway.

Also, it would be nice to have the option to set alarms for each day of the week. The next alarm time should be displayed in small text, perhaps a centimeter below the main time.

All of the above features were included in a great palm treo application called mobileCLOCK (formerly Bob's Alarm), which benefited from multiple iterations based on user feedback. An iPhone app that distills this program to its essential features would be great. The color scheme of ONLY black and red is absolutely necessary.

I love the fact that I can turn my iphone speaker dock into a full fledged alarm clock dock without spending more than 99 cents!! Great work!!

A seperate song and volume control would go great with the sleeptimer. I'd like my chilling music playing quietly when I go to bed, and something hard and loud to get me going in the morning.

what if you get a phone call or text in the middle of the night do you have to make sure you go back in and open the app back up?

jmdfd415,

The app will automatically open back up after your call is completed, and all of your settings will be preserved.

Thanks

I've just bought it and it looks very nice. Being able to wake to your chosen music is a great idea (although make sure you've not turned off your sound as I had done).

Also take the headphones out before going to bed. I forgot to do that lastnight, fortunately I set the inbuilt alarm a few minutes later as back up.

I have a question.. Does the music fade in?? If it doesnt.. can you PLEASE make that happen?? I had the iHome alarm clock and i couldnt STAND waking up to it for two reasons.. I could not set the volume of the music that plays when I wake up and its default was REALLY loud and jarring.. and I would LOVE to have the music actually FADE IN! I do not like to be jarred out of bed.. no way.. So a way to set the volume and fade in would make me VERY happy and I would DEFINITELY buy

lindsayanng,
Good news. You can pick from multiple volume levels and the application will use this setting when the alarm goes off. Also, the fade-in feature you mentioned is scheduled for the next update.

Thanks

You can only pick volume levels?? Not just a volume slider? Thats odd.. but definitely better than one single volume level.. and fade in will definitely be AWESOME

hey, just noticed ONE MORE THING.. what about SNOOZE??? I am the queen of snooze. i usually set two alarms.. one that is 1 hour earlier than I need to wake up.. I hit the snooze about 5 times before the second alarm sounds.. which wakes me up.. slowly but surely.

So how does your snooze work?? Can you set custom snooze times? How do you hit the snooze?? I downloaded one alarm app that made you shake the phone.. itwas SOO annoying because I could never remember that was what you had to do..

I have it and have been wanting something like this -it's not bad but I have two requests to make it perfect.

1 shame you need to activate the app for it to work. . I use the iPhones alrm clock which once set you can use the iPhone and forget it. I would forget to activate the app each night .

2. Set it so you can only be woken up on eg week days like the inbut alarm clock.

Almost there though.

It would be nice if you could allow landscape mode. Also with the ability to show only the time and date in landscape or portrait, with the settings in its own icon, or have them appear when you double tap the screen. Finally, the ability to change the background and text colors, and brightness.
